Description & purchase Terms Description & purchase terms can be found BELOW the VIDEO & 70 PHOTOS.…. please allow time to load all 70 Pictures to load. Beautiful “high option” fastback. An excellent combination of original & restored with a few bolt on upgrades. Documented “high option” fastback This fastback is factory equipped with performance options that are normally only found on the GT’s. A factory top loader 4-SPEED fastback with POWER Disc brakes” is the most sought after “option combo” on a vintage Mustang. It is also equipped with Power Steering, which in combination with the above options, make for a excellent driving experience. This is a ”Marti Report” documented original car with a few added options and modern upgrades to improve the real world driving experience. Options ( it is LOADED !!!! ) C-code 289 V-8 Top Loader 4-Speed transmission Deluxe Interior “option package” Deluxe Seat Belts Power DISC Brakes Power Steering Am Radio Fold Down Rear Seat Upper Console Lower Console Clock Wheel Well molding Raised letter White wall tires Rocker panel molding C-Stripe very Rare “as built” All documented in the Marti report. ONLY 86 “out of 317,423” Mustangs built in 1968 were “fastbacks with Wimbledon white paint and “deluxe” red interior”. ONLY 1,179 out of 317,423 Mustangs built in 1968 had a 289 with 4-speed tranny. Not your typical Mustang! This is a very special car, AND best of all, it has had a pampered history and is in “GREAT” condition. Restored only as needed This car was owned by one adult male for most of its existence and was garaged and pampered since new. Everything works including the original Radio, Map Lights, interior lights, etc. It was kept substantially original and required very little to freshen it up. This is one of those unique Mustangs that did NOT get passed around and was NOT abused and altered. The original owner special ordered the car of his dreams and fussed over and cared for it until he ultimately became too old to drive. It was eventually inherited by the niece of the original owner and then ultimately sold to a collector. The 71k miles are said to be original, however there is nothing to document it and due to its age will be some as mileage exempt. Excellent panel fit and alignment !! Very little was required to freshen up this mint survivor. It has had one repaint (a good quality job) and still looks “show room fresh”. The body has excellent panel fit and alignment. It is laser straight with no ripples, no door dings, no deep scratches, no road rash or any evidence of careless usage or wear. To complement the paint, most of the bright work (chrome and stainless) was replaced with new or restored. It looks every bit as good in real life as it does in the photos. I just applied the red “C” stripe. The C-stripe was an option in 1968 and I think it has that perfect “period look”. However, the stripe is 3M vinyl and can be easily removed should you not like it. The interior is the rare “deluxe red” with wood grain. The seats were recovered with the correct factory matching material due to some splits in the seams on the drivers seat. The door panels and dash are original and in great condition with that slight patina that comes with age. It has the rare upper and lower consoles as well as the optional FOLD DOWN rear seat that everybody wants. The original “deluxe steering wheel” is included with the car and appears as if it can be remounted if you prefer it to the wood wheel currently on the car. Perfect rot FREE original floors !!! …. The floors are UNTOUCHED original and as nice as I have ever seen. No spray can restoration and no undercoating to hide anything. If you know anything about Mustangs of this vintage, you know that original floors this clean are next to impossible to find. This alone separates this Mustang from the vast majority. WHEELS Take your choice, either the currently mounted American Racing Torque Thrust D’s which are new out of the box, or, a very nice set of original type 1968 “Style Steel” Wheels … either set will have BF-Goodrich TA radials. Mechanical (original with upgrades) Please take time to watch the test drive VIDEO. The experience behind the wheel is fantastic. It is a blast to take thought the gears and not only does it stop with absolute confidence (Power DISC brakes), but it steers with ease (Power Steering) and handles great with the suspension upgrades It was kept substantially stock with only a few “bolt on upgrades” for improved real world driving. The car was slightly lowered and NEW springs and KYB gas shocks where installed along with front & rear SWAY BARS. This was to improve the stock handling of the 6o’s Mustang. Compared with stock, this baby handles like it is on rails and consequently is a joy to drive. I am told that the motor has never been out of the car and that the mileage is believed to be original. I can say for a fact that it runs STRONG and exhibits no bad habits. The engine bay and the motor were professionally detailed and look show quality. Please watch to video to see just how original the engine bay is with all the rare tags still in place. It is original from the air cleaner to the oil pan. The rear end had a gear change from the tall 2.79 to a better performing 3.25 In my mind a good move when you have a 4-speed to enjoy. The car has excellent acceleration and torque through all 4 gears while still being compatible with highway driving. The exhaust was changed out to a true “dual” aluminum system with a balance pipe, Flow Master mufflers and GT tips exiting out the rear. The sound from the V8 is awesome. Listen to it in the video as it comes to life. Value / Price It will only continue to go up in value. A 1968 Mustang fastback (in this condition with these options) is one of the most sought after classics on the planet. There are “lesser” cars out there for less money. Seasoned car people know that there are much BIGGER differences than “just price” between quality and the vast majority of what you see here on eBay. “Quality” always costs more for a reason (usually many very good reasons). This is the fastback you look for but can never seem to find. My hobby is finding highly desirable collector cars that have been well sorted out – please see my perfect “Seller” Feedback below. This was earned selling nothing but high integrity cars. Please note that every car I have ever listed on eBay has sold. Most of my cars sell before the expiration of my listing. Even though you may not see evidence of offers being made, rest assured, I am constantly having dialogue with interested parties locally and around the world. If you are seriously interested I recommend that you contact me as soon as possible as I ALWAYS have a number of folks surprised and disappointed when they lose out to another buyer. Terms & Conditions / & legal stuff Although my eBay experiences have been very positive, I am aware that much goes on within the eBay community that is not positive and therefore requires direct language. Do NOT make a bid or offer until you read everything below. Any bid or offer is a legal acknowledgement and agreement on your part to be bound by the Terms and Conditions put forth below and additionally specified within eBay itself. Have FUNDS ready PRIOR to bidding or making an offer. Full payment must be received within five (7) business days of the end of auction/sale unless I agree in writing to alternative terms. WIRE TRANSFER IS PREFERRED for US buyers and required for all buyers “outside” the United States. Cashier’s check, direct deposit or cash in person are acceptable but in ALL cases this vehicle and its title will NOT be released until complete payment is received and all funds have irrevocably cleared BOTH Banks. If paying by Bank Cashiers Check, I must receive a copy of any Bank Cashiers Check in ADVANCE along with your “internal bank contact information” for confirmation of your Bank Check by my Bank. Bank Cashiers checks MUST BE classified by my bank as having irrevocably cleared both Banks prior to my release of vehicle and title. Loan checks must be agreed to by me PRIOR to you making a bid or offer. Money Orders are NOT accepted. I am not a dealer, however I have an agency relationship with a Licensed Texas Dealer and all cars will be sold through this Dealer (ebuymotorZ). Texas buyers will have to pay Texas sales tax and liscense/registeration fees. Out of state buyers are responsible for taxes in their own states. This is a very nice vehicle. However, there is no such thing as a "PERFECT" vehicle...especially when dealing with vintage vehicles. This is not a new vehicle; it is decades old. Even a restored or partially restored vehicle can and will have flaws and normal wear and tear congruent to its age and/or mileage. This vehicle may have minor dings, scratches (or, other imperfections) and indications of wear and use because it has been used. This vehicle is sold AS IS - NO WARRANTY This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer and/or buyers agent to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle (prior to the end of the eBay listing), and to have satisfied themselves as to the condition and value and to bid or offer based upon that judgment solely. Arranging for an independent third-party inspection is a great way to validate a seller's claims about a vehicle's condition. There are many companies and individuals who offer such a service. These services are listed on the internet and can be found in most collector car magazine publications. Of course your personal inspection and scrutiny are suggested and most welcomed. Any and all inspections must occur PRIOR to the end of this eBay listing. The seller has made a diligent effort to accurately describe any known material defects associated with this vehicle. Additionally, the seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose at the “buyer's request prior to the end of the eBay listing” any additional specific details important to the Buyer. However, any descriptions or representations from the Seller are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. The Seller does not expressly, or implicitly, guarantee the accuracy of the description including authenticity or genuineness of the vehicle and/or its components and assumes no responsibility for any repairs or defects regardless of any oral or written statements about the vehicle. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any dispute that may arise will be settled by arbitration in a Fort Worth, Texas location. New eBay users with zero to LOW feedback or negative feedback must make contact with me by PHONE - PRIOR to making a bid, or offer to buy. I can and will cancel bids/offers of any bidder that refuse to respond to my communication. My phone number is CLEARLY shown above towards the end of the vehicle description. I am available to answer any and all questions by phone and/or e-mail.
