Vehicle Detail

1967 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible Rebuilt 318 Engine 4 barrel Holley Carb Edelbrock Intake Electronic Ignition VIN BH27D72288453 I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle and have had it since 1997. The 1st and 2nd owners were friends and basically keep the car stored for years. It originally was a 273 with a 2 barrel carb when I bought it. The engine was rebuilt in 2003 and has had just 2700 miles put on it. Current odometer reading is 138733. When it was rebuilt I added an Edelbrock Intake, electronic ignition, Mopar valve covers and a 4 barrel Holley Carb. The motor mounts need to be replaced and I will include new mounts that just need to be installed. The old gas tank was rusted and cracked and has been replaced. I took on the task of rebuilding the carb a while ago and got it done and back on but have been unable to get the proper adjustments done by myself (Guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was). Car has been sitting for close to a year now and I just don't have the time to work on it as I would like to. I'm sure it will be fine wih the proper mixture but right now it fires up and then stalls unless I really open the throttle and keep reving it. The muffler needs to be replaced because it runs real loud. Automatic transmission was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. Wheels are Cragar S/S Chrome Super Sport with BF Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R14 tires. The car has the original blue convertible top with the glass rear window. The glass is separating from the roof along the bottom seam. There are also some tears so it is not currently water-tight. The motor for the top works but one of the cylinders needs to be replaced. I have the replacement hydraulic line so you would just need the cylinder - or you can just put he top down manually. The white interior seats are worn and there is very little padding left in the drivers seat. Ther rear seat is cracked and splitting. The white interior panels are all in good shape and really just need a good cleaning. The dash pad has 2 small cracks on it. The wood grain sport steering wheel has a crack/gap in it. All of the gauges/lights function with the exception of the vacuum gauge which just needs to be hooked back up. The old heater core was leaking so it has been removed. A new one is included and needs to be installed. The center console and trans shifter are in good shape. A removable face tape deck/stereo with a remote control was mounted under the dash with a 12 disc CD changer in the trunk. Car was repainted the dark blue in 1984 with the exception of the white racing stripes along the body which are original. The color is close to original with the exception of metallic flake added to it. The paint has chips and scrapes and is oxidized. The rear quarter panels have some light rust right on the edges but it is minor. There is some rust in the trunk which is recent due to the water coming in thru the torn convertible top. There was a dent in the front fender which has been repaired with Bondo. There is also a small ding in the center of the nose. Car originally had Factory Air but for some reason the previous owner took it out. I still have all the parts which are included in the sale but I believe the compressor is no good. Other parts included are the top hydraulic hose, new motor mounts, new heater core, and a spare Cragar S/S rim which could do with a bit of re-chroming. I am also throwing in the original 1967 Plymouth service manual wih the addition supplemental bulletin that covers the 1967 Barracuda. Also included are an original thermal copy of the window sticker listing all the options purchased (how often do you find that?!), the operating manual with plastic holder case, the build sheet, and certicard. I took the certicard out of the engine compartment but the holder for it is still in there. The car is out of registration since 2008 so if you are purchasing this car for use in California be aware that there is about $350 back fees due. Also the car has vanity license plates so you would need to get new plates on it. I have every receipt for repairs on the car dating back to 1984 (it's quite a stack!). Here is a short list of repairs and the mileage: 138733 Current Odometer Reading 138730 Replaced Gas Tank 137040 Recored Radiator 136810 Rebuilt power Steering Pump 136789 Replaced Transmission Lines 136033 4 New Tires 136033 Engine Rebuilt 136881 Rear End Replaced 134245 New Pitman Arm, Idler Arm, Upper/Lower Ball Joints, Strut Rod Bushings, Steering Coupler 132314 Brake Drums 131645 Transmission Rebuilt Now for some administrative data.
