Vehicle Detail

Originally I had other plans for this car, but upon further inspection, it is too nice to heavily modify and is better off with someone wanting to keep it as it is or totally restore. Factory air car, engine #6117597. Sepia brown (factory special order color 7474-0, code 415) with tan interior. Due to overall condition, mileage appears to be accurate, but no proof as I have very few records with the car. One RO from 2/2000 showing 74,592 miles and another RO from 7/2003 showing 75,841. Combined parts and labor from these ROs totaled $4,362.05. Parts replaced included front struts, front wheel bearings, tie rod ends, master cylinder, and front and rear brake lines. I have another repair order totaling $2,255.62 from early November 2010 from my local Porsche independent. Previous owner had the car dropped off for a major service as it had set for a period of time. Additional work performed included cleaning carb bowls and jets, drained/cleaned fuel tank, new fuel strainer, cam seals, checking cams for factory spec settings, reoiled chain tensioners, and flushed brake system. Compression check revealed the following: #1@131, #2 @127, #3 @129, #4 @132, #5 @128, #6 @131. As you can see from the pictures, due to some of the period upgrades I believe it went through a refreshing /upgrade sometime in the 80’s. Correct color repaint was done very well at the time, but is showing its age, on a scale of 1 to 10, probably about 3.5. All bright work is in excellent condition but not perfect. One small rust spot on the bottom of the driver’s door, but that’s it. Other work that appears to have been done during the ‘80’s: · 2.2 engine upgraded with “S” pistons & cylinders, “E” cams, new Weber carbs (still have the security wires through the float screws). · SC chain tensioner upgrade with slides and tensioner guards · “S” front brake calipers · “S” type fiberglass front spoiler · “S” wheel opening moldings · “S” gauges · Euro taillights · KYB rear shocks · Converted correctly to use one battery · Cibie headlights Bridgestone Potenza tires, 195/60 R15 (like new) are mounted on 15X5.5 Fuchs. Steel wheel spare, jack, partial tool kit and owner’s manual are all there. No maintenance book. Original radio is not available. What is not right or needs attention: clock (not wired up), A/C compressor, front hood and rear deck shocks, heat exchangers, driver’s window regulator (works, but is difficult). This car runs very strong and the 901 transmission shifts correctly. It can be driven as is for years to come, restore as you drive, or completely restored for a show winner.
