This Karmann Ghia is the original movie car. Its not a perfect car it is in its original movie condition but it runs and drives and it would make a great addition to a collection as movie memorabilia, weekend driver or easy restoration. This Karmann Ghia was featured in the 2009 movie “Whip It” starring and directed by Drew Barrymore. It was used in numerous scenes and still adornes its faux Texas license plate. Finished in red with black interior and ready to be driven as a piece of movie memorabilia. The Karmann Ghia combined the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1, unique styling by the Italian Carrozzeria Ghia, and hand-built bodywork by German coach builder Karmann. Great Sunday cruiser that will turn heads as it goes down the road Exterior is in ok overall shape. There is no corrosion and its in good condition. Body shows no signs of previous damage. The vehicle has some movie modifications like the bumpers and missing trim. Paint is a poor red repaint it appears that the car was originally orange and only the outer body was repainted but not door jams . Interior is also in decent shape but could use some attention to make it a good driver or be an unrestored drivable movie memorabilia. The upholstery shows some wear and the carpet is stained and dash and gauges are slightly deteriorated. Mechanically the car is in decent shape it runs and drives well. Starter is a little week and has an aftermarket push button ignition. It idles a little high and has oil leak. Dont miss this great opporunity to purchase a true movie classic that is very rare.
