2005 CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR X-NORTH CARLOINA HIGHWAY PATROL If you have been in the market for a clean Crown Victoria Police Interceptor look no further. This car was purchased by me directly from the North Carolina Highway Patrol in September of 2008 it was a three year old car with about 84,000 miles on it when I bought it. I was even lucky enough to meet the officer that used it since new. He was not too happy about giving it up he explained to me, being a rather tall officer he did not care too much for the lack of headroom and trunk room his new Dodge Charger offered. If you are not familiar with the way the North Carolina Highway Patrol operates their cruisers are some of the best maintained and cleanest police cars in the country. Each car is assigned to one officer who takes it home with him each night and the mileage is true highway miles. Town police patrol the neighborhoods, highway patrol patrols the highways only. They even take into consideration of how they install the police equipment into each car. There are no antenna holes drilled! they mount their antennas on a trunk lip installed bracket. And as for the light bars they sneek the wiring through the upper door jamb not to drill any roof holes. They do not cut up the headliners at all, this car has had no cage installed ever (they do not transport prisoners in their cars) and the entire radio package is installed in a removable console with one small slit made in the rug to pass the wiring through. They do not use any road salt in North Carolina so the underside is as clean as the top side. You up north guys would drool over the underside of this car still wearing the original part number decals from ford! This car has power windows, locks, drivers seat, ABS, dual front airbags as well as side curtain airbags, tilt cruise control A/C four wheel disc brakes heavy duty engine cooling, heavy duty brakes, heavy duty suspension, dual exhaust, aluminum driveshaft, heavy duty altenator, ticket writing lamp, dash mounted power trunk button and more! After buying this car I did the things I wanted to do to make sure it was 110% reliable. I installed new plugs, boots & springs (these cars dont use and igntition wire they use a boot with a spring in the center), new air filter, new front brakes rotors and pads (rotors have a lifetime warranty) I always do my 3000 mile oil changes and I have even done a transmission filter and fluid change, plus a rearend fluid change with new synthetic rearend fluid good for another 100,000 miles. I have just installed four brand new goodyear tires that have about 500 miles on them since being installed. The body has held up well the paint still shines like glass and is not all beat up like most police cars are. The windows were tinted 35% all around so you can drive it at night without any issues. I took the grandpa hubcaps off and installed the small caps, I also took the chrome grille out and installed the honey comb grill for more cooling power. In the interior I have installed a removable console with a padded armrest. This car runs and drives excellent I drive it 50 miles a day 6 days a week it now has 110,000 miles on it and has not skipped a beat! it has never let me down or broke down since I have owned it the past two years. It drives straight with your hands off the wheel, shifts smooth and accurate and has a lot of power. The A/C blows ice cold and the heat will roast you out of the car. Everything works and nothing has been hacked up it even still has the original am/fm radio. The motor runs great no knocks, ticks, leaks or smoking it does not use any oil! If you know about these cars you know they go 200,000 miles plus with ease so this one has alot of life left in it. The only reason I am selling it is I just got a company car thru my job and I can not have this car sitting where I live (I live in a townhouse with a 1 car driveway) You can fly in and drive this car home anywhere in the USA with confidence, and rather quickly! When they see that black grille in their rearview mirror a funny thing happens, your lane on the highway just opens right up! (boy I am gonna miss that!)
