This is a 1979 Diesel Mercedes 240D that has been very well maintained. It is a powder blue exterior color with a dark blue interior leatherette seats. It has a 4 speed manual transmission. The actual mileage is unknown as the odometer is not working, odometer reads 284000, but we know that the engine has been rebuilt. All the seals are new and it had no leaks, uses virtually no oil. Overall I would say this car is in great condition. You can see by the pictures that the interior looks great for the age and the the exterior does too. There is no rust as it is a New Mexico vehicle. The car runs so smoothly, it still feels luxurious to drive this car, and you can open up the moon roof with a push of a button (see pics). Most everything works, the only issues are that the right blinker no longer blinks, it is either on or off, and there is some damage to the rear headliner and rear seat probably from the heat of NM , which you can see in the pictures. This would be great to drive as is, or change it to run off of alternative fuel. It has automatic door locks, that still work!!! And the power moon roof, as well as wood trim, it does have AC but it is not working, but the heat works great and the defroster does too. We have added a Sony stereo that will play CD's and it has a USB plug so you can plug in any of your devices right into it. The front seats are in especially nice condition and have had seat covers on them throughout their lifetime, the car came to me with the original seat covers, which I just removed due to allergies. We just put on brand new tires and it comes with a full size spare that fits nicely in the compartment inside and underneath the trunk. The trunk by the way is huge, plenty of room for suitcases, etc. We replaced the injectors about 2000 miles ago, and it has a new water pump, as well as new CV joint axles. There is still all of the original paperwork with it, as well as the original tool kit that came with the car. This is a gem not to be missed.
