1971 Plymouth GTX This is a REAL GTX BIG BLOCK CAR -not a cloned Satellite or a Road Runner. Have broadcast sheet and Fender tag. Y93 CODE SHOW CAR FINISH. Also has SHOW CAR FINISH on bottom of Broadcast sheet. Also says (handwritten) "Montreal Ex-Factory 8-70" I don't know much about "Pilot Cars" or "Pre Production" hand assembled cars but have had a few people mention this might possibly be one considering the early date and show car finish. I don't know for sure so you be the judge. There were only 2,538 of these vehicles built.This particular vehicle is # 78 ! With a build date of August of 1970. Stored indoors last 13 yrs.Tor red (hemi Orange ) with blue gunmetal interior w 6-way driver seat.440 (non matching #'s) w/headers 727 trans, 8 3/4 diff.Many options ...front chin spoilers, rear wing, hood pins, vinyl top, color coded bumpers, rear window louver 1 of 150 GTX's with this option, exhaust tips, rally dash with 150 MPH Speedo and Tachometer, engine runs . Fenders are in excellent shape. Frame solid, no holes thru trunk but It looks like it was patched in one spot previously. needs front floors (driver rusted out and the hump is cut from what looks like a broken frive shaft at one point)and passenger 1/4 panel, door bottoms, rockers. Car has typical rust. Nearly all panels are now available for these cars including entire floor pan w/ hump. This car is very complete. This car is for restoration. It runs but needs to be started at the starter (solenoid shot ?) The brakes need attention as the car has been sitting for a long time and did not stop very well.
