Vehicle Detail
Here’s something very special….. A 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge!! I recently purchased a number of cars from the estate of a noted Florida collector and each will be offered on Ebay over the coming weeks. This is a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge project that came loaded from the factory with many rare and desirable options. It is an original Ram Air 3 car with factory 4 Speed and factory Air Conditioning. If that’s not rare enough, it also came with Hideaway Headlights, Hood Mounted Tach and Gauges, Clock, Positraction, 8-Track Stereo, Wood Grain Steering Wheel, Console and Power Disc Brakes and of course The Judge Package. It is completely documented by the Pontiac Historical Society and a copy of the report is included. It was originally sold new by Stansell Pontiac–Cadillac, Inc in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1969. The car sat in the enclosed warehouse/museum of the previous owner since 2005 and the car is now in my warehouse in California. I have a clear Florida title that has been signed over to me by the estate and now the vehicle is ready to be completed by its new owner. Here are the details as best as I can tell: Body: The car is in disassembled condition and will need a full restoration. The Frame appears to be in good condition with no rust issues and was sandblasted and painted by a previous owner. The floors, body panels, cowl area, hood, lower front valance, fenders, doors, trunk and roof are in generally good condition with only a few small pin holes, surface rust areas and minor dents. In other words, the car will need basic body work to all areas, but no major rust repair. The passenger cowl has a small area that will need some rust repair, but it is very small in size. A previous owner replaced the rear section of the car inclusive of both rear quarter panels, package tray, rear floor and trunk panels with other used pieces, but it appears to have been welded in properly but will need finishing work. There are small dents on the doors and quarter panels and I am uncertain to what extent other body work may have been done previously. There are numerous chrome strips, plastic ducts for the dash and heater, mouldings, seatbelts, hideaway headlight and grill parts, wiring, AM Radio, Console, etc all in the trunk and back seat area. All glass appears to be in good shape (driver side quarter window is in trunk), the front rubber bumper has been restored, rear bumper is re-chromed and rear spoiler is in place. The VIN tag is in place on the dash and reads: 242379P318445 The Trim Tag is in place and reads: ST 69 24237 PON 219488 BDY TR 258 72 72 PNT O5B Interior: The dash pad and steering column may need to be dyed or replaced, the original gauge cluster is in the trunk along with a hood tachometer. The glove box is in the trunk, but missing the emblem. The car will basically need a complete new interior. Engine/Transmission and Ram Air Parts: The engine block, crankshaft, cylinder heads, Ram air exhaust manifolds, , Upper and Lower Ram Air pans, Ram Air pull cable and flapper assembly, intake manifold, water pump, carburetor, misc pulleys, air conditioning compressor with brackets, motor mounts, A/C condenser, radiator, transmission, bell housing and drive shaft are all accounted for and sitting in the trunk and interior. The engine block has the following codes on it: 0742691 WS and 29P318445, a casting number of 9790071 and a C279 code. The heads have a 48 on each center exhaust port and a H218 and H238 code. The transmission has a P9C15A code and 29P318445. Summary: This is a project car, but a very rare car indeed. A restored 1969 GTO Judge sold recently at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction for $90,200. A rare car like this is worth restoring and this would make an excellent project for someone who wants to take their time and restore it properly. Sold in AS-IS Condition: I want to be very clear about this car. This car will undoubtedly need a lot of work and I am certain there will be missing and damaged parts that will need to be located and purchased to make it complete. It will need interior parts, misc engine parts, body work, emblems, trim pieces, weatherstrips and other unknown items. Restoration work appears to have been started by the previous owner(s) but it was not completed. Other than the Pontiac Historical Society documentation, I have a very limited history on the car. That said, this vehicle is being sold in absolutely AS-IS condition with no warranty of any kind whatsoever and the sale is final. There is no expressed or implied warranty as to the condition or completeness of the vehicle. Inspections are welcomed and I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. High bidder will be responsible for pick-up and transportation at their expense which must occur within 3 weeks of purchase. Payment for vehicle must occur in full within three (3) business days via wire or cashier’s check. On Nov-20-10 at 09:07:34 PST, seller added the following information: For those of you who have asked, yes the original color is Carousel Red (Code 72) with Black interior (code 258) as indicated on the trim tag. Also, yes odometer indicates 49202 miles, but I do not know if that means 49,202, 149,202 or the actual mileage on the car. Lastly, keep in mind that any inspections must be completed prior to auction ending. Once the auction has ended and the reserve has been met the sale is final as stated above.
