Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1985 Trans Am. At this point, I would call it a project car, because it has a few issues that need fixed before it can be driven, and the dash is mostly disassembled. The only real problem it has is, it has no power going into the car. When I got it, it wouldn't start when the steering wheel was tilted up fully, it had to be pulled down. And now it has lost all power, I'm assuming it was a pinched wire at the steering wheel that finally went. That being said, finding the main problem should be the easy part for you. I have all of the dash apart, and the steering wheel apart and pulled down from the dash, so the wires are all easy to find. Once the electrical is taken care of the car will run great. I just replaced the lifters/rocker arms/push rods. All new top end gaskets. Oil change/Oil filter. So though I have no way to show that it does run smooth, I can say that the few times I had it started before the electrical went, it sounded very nice. The problems it has: The shocks for the hood need replaced, the hood wont stay up on its own without them. The interior could definitely look better. pretty ripped up, driver's seat looks very crappy. The headliner looks crappy. Though I found full floorboard and headliner sets on Ebay for about $350 for both. The rear seats are out at the moment, though I do have them. There is one spot (excluding the passenger door) that needs some body work. I'm guessing the previous owner scraped against a wall or something, the back fender is nice and dented up, but nothing some body work wouldn't fix. The passenger door (from the same time) definitely needs replaced, I included a picture to show what happened to it.. Found a black door at a wrecking yard for $50 dollars though. So it isn't a huge issue (also, all doors from 82-92 firebird/camaro are interchangeable, makes it easy to find) It doesn't have a rear wing right now, the one that was on it when I purchased the car was ripped up, and I thought it would look better with none, than something that bad. So I just scrapped it out. All parts that aren't connected right now (dash, steering wheel, rear seats) are included with the car, I have them all set to the side. Nothing missing. Also, as you will see in the pictures, The paint could look a little better. The man I bought it from was second owner. I was told that it had every possible option on it. Performance Suspension, (4 wheel disk brakes. Borg-Warner 9 Bolt Posi WS6 Rear end) 16" Aluminum wheels (SHOULD be aluminum color, but previous owner thought black paint looked good on them. I do not) Has power windows, power locks, power seats. 305 Tuned-port Injection engine. T-Tops. I have the Haynes manual for it, that will be left in the car. No broken windows, no cracked lights.
