Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1988 325ix with 153k miles and exceptional condition considering the fact the car is 23 years old now. Zinnoberrot with black sport interior - a very rare combo. Never been in any accidents, all original paint as verified by a professional paint meter. Even the windshield is original. The car was traded in about 2 years ago for a new BMW @ BMW of Norwood. This is my 4th 325ix Being an '88 model it has all the goodies that BMW phased out or made optional in later model years - pop-out windows, "full" trip computer, interior mirror with map lights, electric sunroof, ellipsoids, rear spoiler lip and sport interior. ’91 M3 seats – a bit more comfortable than earlier Recaros European grille E.A.T. (Mark D’Sylva) chip made for larger injectors 19lbs injectors 89+ front bumper to replace ugly US “diving board” ’88 bumper New fog light lensese + Lamin-X smoked film Euro front bumper side trim to eliminate US marker lights Smoked directionals in the front bumper E46 ZHP shifter knob New OEM shifter boot MB Quart components up front + Boston Acoustics components out back. All mounted in stock locations in stock housings A mix of some amps and a small sub out back – I know very little about this stuff. My brother gave me a present of doing this install while I was overseas on business. All I know is that it sounds light years ahead of the stock system. Redline fluids throughout Brand new snow tires installed this Friday. This car is going to be unstoppable this winter. Maintenance: Timing belt + water pump + tensioner replaced at 130k miles, so about 23k miles on them Valve adjustment at 140k miles Recent rear wheel bearing Plugs and rotor replaced at about 145k miles I pulled the front driveshaft recently to inspect the splines and everything looks good there. No axle clicking either at full steering lock. I do most of the stuff myself so I don't have any labor receipts but I may dig up bunch of parts receipts. Car comes with some uninstalled parts I either have left over from other E30s I've owned or that I bought and was going to install but never got around to do that: - adjustable Koni shocks - I was going to put them in along with H&R springs next spring but seeing that I'm selling the car I didn't get the springs. - new Bosch oxygen sensor (not that it needs it) - new OEM muffler hardware kit (the straps that hold the muffler in place) - new OEM hood release cable - used M30 AFM (a common upgrade on M20 engines) - Z3 1.9 short shifter along with all the bushings needed for a shifter rebuild – this stuff is left over after one of my previous IXs The car is an absolute riot and I will surely regret selling it but it looks like I'll be spending quite a big chunk of time in Europe over the next 2 years or so and I just don't want to leave my wife here with 3 cars and 2 bikes. This car is probably in top 5-10% of 325ix’s left on the road - they are rare and their values keep rising The only negative things are as follows: 1) Central locking only works from passenger door - I was going to install some remote control but never got around to doing it. 2) Amazingly enough, the car is almost rust-free. 95% of these cars have rust SOMEWHERE. Let's face - scoring in IX from CA or AZ is just not happening. There are 2 non-critical spots - one around license plate lights (a common spot on E30s) and along the edge of the trunk - neither spot is visible with the trunk closed. 3) Both front seats have small rips in upper corners of the back panels – the seats come from an M3 and they’ve rubbed against roll bar bolts before I swapped them out for some fixed-back Recaros. I never bothered recovering the back panels as the rips are pretty small and never bothered me. Please understand this car is 23 years old now. This ain’t no brand-new Civic and it comes with some “patina” – you may come across a few minor scratches here and there but they’re too small to be caught on camera. Remember – this is a single-stage paint so you need to stay on top if it if you don’t want to see it getting dull over time. Car is sold as-is with no warranty
