2005 Honda XR650L Runs great. What’s good about this bike: I bought this bike new and have always kept it very well maintained (still have most service receipts from dealer), always stored in garage, 99% of the miles have been on road (although this is on/off road design), everything works, everything is straight, no rust, no damage, never dropped, never raced, never run low on oil or abused in any way. I have the original owner’s manual, factory keys, brand-new lifetime battery, clean title. Dealer installed oversized gas tank on it when new and put saddle-bags on the bike, both will sell as part of the bike. I put sliders on the axles to protect the bike in the event it was dropped, I added a cargo net, but if you don’t care for them they could be removed very easily. Otherwise bike is stock and original equipped as it was from the factory. What is not perfect: While the bike runs great and is well cared for by 50-year old rider, it does have a number of very minor scratches and minor wear, nothing bad and nothing more than what you would expect from a 5-year old bike just don't want you to think I am representing it as, "showroom". Since the day I bought the bike has sometimes had a very tiny and intermittent small oil drip, sometimes and not much. Tires are still ok but they do have 2000 miles on them and because knobbies do not wear well on the street they will need to be replaced before too long. I put too many stickers on it. Just being very open about bike, it is straight, it runs as good as new and if you replaced some of the cosmetic plastics would look excellent. Why am I selling this bike? I hate to sell this bike, I love it. It has always been dependable, fun and just has a good, “vibe” about it. The reason it is for sale is that I own 3 bikes and this is the one that gets used the least. The reason I bought it was to go visit a friend who lives in Baja, and then go for other events like viewing the Baja 500 race. This is the perfect machine for that, cheap, dependable, simple, we ride 65 mph down the toll road and then have no problem with the gravel road that leads to my friends house, then can split the lanes to save time coming back over the border. At this point my friends are all afraid to ride in Mexico and I am not that keen on riding solo so sadly I have only ridden this bike 2000 miles in the past 2 years. The numbers and extras: Check the values for yourself. Kelley Blue Book states that the trade in value is $2320.00 and that the dealer/retail sell price is $3400.00. Private party value should be more than trade in but less than dealer price. The biggest consignment place in town reviewed the bike and stated that they were confident that they could sell it in less than 30 days for $3100.00 and that they would pay me $2500.00. So, I am listing this bike at a minimum of $2000.00 just so it doesn’t get stolen from me and hoping for $2800.00---we’ll see. If you pay the $2800, “Buy it now” price I will include (1.) The LP Racing bike lift in great condition (2.) A pristine HJC dirt helmet which I bought new but never wore because I always used my more comfortable street helmet, (3) Goggles which have never been used, (4) a heavy duty cable lock, (5) Used Cortech/Tourmaster Jacket (it is older and a bit faded), (6) Moose Fender pack in excellent condition with unused tire spoons, spare tube, patch kit, slime sealant, (7) Thor dirt gloves -- all of these items are in the photo taken of the bike in my garage.
