Vehicle Detail
First off, thanks for taking a look at my auction! I'm not quite sure where to begin so let's start off with the basics! This is my pride and joy, my 1999 Mazda Miata that I have lovingly owned for about 6 years! This car has been a blast to drive, ridiculously reliable, and very economical in every sense of the word. I am deeply saddened to be getting rid of it, but I am getting older and my priorities are changing. Having a 2 seat sports car is no longer that feasible at this point in my life. That is the reason I am selling it. I am extremely meticulous with this car so I will try to include every last detail about it that I can think of, but PLEASE, feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have or about anything I may have forgotten to include! A little history: I bought this car in 2004 with 86K miles on the clock from a dealer. It was my first car that I purchased completely on my own and it has remained the best car I have ever owned for over 6 years now. I am very meticulous with my vehicles and I try to keep them as well maintained as possible. I have a "Miata maintenance" folder with receipts for 90% of the parts/work that has been performed since I have owned this car. I still have the original owners manual in the glove box as well. This car has been my daily driver for 6 years and the majority of the miles put on it were from a 140 mile a day round trip commute to work on the highway. I have always used Mobil 1 synthetic oil and filters since my very first oil change. I will try to include every last little positive and negative thing I can remember about this car! I love this car greatly and I hope the new owner will be do the same and be as happy with it as I was! The basics: 1999 Mazda Miata 5 speed in “Brilliant Black”. 160,399 miles Mobil 1 Synthetic oil and Mobil 1 filter since 86K miles NO accidents! Leather PackageAppearance package 1 and 2Factory 4.3 ratio Torsen LSDFactory Mazda hardtop Bose stereo Air conditioning Power Steering The follow parts were replaced within the last 100 miles: Both motor mounts. Spark plug wires. The following parts were replaced at 150,120: Timing belt Water pump Timing belt tensioner Idler pulley Valve cover gasket Crank seal Camshaft seals Coolant hoses Factory thermostat Air filter All 4 rotors and brake pads were replaced. Spark plugs. Other parts replaced within the past year: 1. The factory radiator developed a small leak in one of the top plastic end tanks and was replaced with a brand new Mishimoto 52MM all aluminum racing radiator. This radiator will handle some serious horsepower if desired. It fits in the stock location without any modification and uses the factory fans without issue. 2. 12.5lb. 17” 5 spoke Centerline “Storm” wheels with 205/40/17 Falken tires. These tires have about 6000 miles on them and look BRAND NEW. The wheels fit perfectly and even though they may be slightly less desirable to the average Miata owner due to being 17”, they are extremely light weight. 3. One rear brake caliper was replaced. 4. ALL fluid have been flushed/replaced. 5. The A/C compressor was replaced with a used unit with 45K miles on it. 6. The A/C condenser was replaced with a brand new unit and the A/C system was fully recharged. Appearance: As you will have surely noticed by now, this 1999 Mazda Miata is equipped with a 2001+ front bumper and factory 2005 MazdaSpeed Miata headlights. First off, I want to stress that this was NOT done due to any sort of front end collision! I simply desired the 2001+ bumper and headlights far more than the 1999 versions. All factory Mazda parts were used to complete the conversion and the difference in visibility with the newer MazdaSpeed headlights over the 1999 design is significant. Interior: The original center console was replaced with the much improved 2001+ design. It is the exact same color as the rest of the interior panels and fits perfectly. This console is a HUGE improvement over the 1999 design! The bad: 1. There is no soft top currently installed! The soft top and frame assembly were removed and sold from the car when the hardtop was purchased. The removal of the soft top and frame looks very clean, please see the pictures attached. 2. The paint is original and looks very presentable when properly washed/waxed, but it has the usual amount of imperfections for a car of its age. 3. There is a dent on the passengers side fender from some jerk in a huge truck that opened his door into my car. It is not that bad and the paint did not chip away so it can be pulled out without having to have the panel repainted. Please see the attached pictures. 4. One of the hardtop latches rattles at times and may need to be replaced sometime soon. 5. The struts are original, and while they work fine, they are probably due for a replacement at the current mileage. 6. There is a VERY small amount of rust starting to bubble through a small section of the drivers side rear wheel well. This is the only case of this I have found on the entire car during the 6 years I have owned it. Please see the attached pictures. 7. There appears to be a slight vibration around 45 M.P.H. I have researched this on Miata.net and there are many threads entitled “The 45 M.P.H. Shimmy”. I have not tried any of the suggestions yet because it is hardly an issue or really bothersome. I may however have the wheels rebalanced for the new owner before the car is sold. 8. The leather seats are worn, particularly the driver's seat. 9. The leather “Nardi” steering wheel is worn. 10. The spare tire was removed and discarded. 11. The rear bumper has a chip in the paint from where someone let a shopping cart bump it. Payment: I have the reserve price set to $3150. $3000 for the car, and $150 for eBay/PayPal fees. A $250 nonrefundable deposit is due via PayPal within 2 business days of the auctions end. I will accept cash upon pickup, a certified money order that has cleared my bank before delivery, or PayPal for payment of this vehicle. Please note that if you are planning to pay for the entire car via PayPal you MUST add an additional 2.5% to the final cost to cover the PayPal fees! Please do not bid unless you fully intend and have the financial means to pay for and take delivery of this vehicle! All non paying bidders will be reported to eBay. Shipping: It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping! I can arrange a time to be home for the shipper to pickup the vehicle. Please make sure you have a way for this vehicle to be delivered if you are not local before you bid. I will try my best to help with this process as well. Warranty: This vehicle does not have an existing warranty and is being sold as-is. I have done my absolute best to describe every flaw I can think of and I encourage any local buyers to come have a look at the car in person if they would like. If you have ANY questions at all about this vehicle please ask them before bidding and I will do my absolute best to answer them! Feedback/History: I have sold 2 other cars, laptops, dozens of car parts, and numerous other items all to happy bidders! I have 100% positive feedback and strive to be as accurate in my item descriptions as possible. As always, please ask any questions you may have and bid with confidence! Thanks for looking! PS: If anyone would like a specific picture of the car please let me know and I'll get it to you as soon as possible! PSS: I noticed eBay's history report shows this vehicle as having "possible odometer rollback". This is not the case at all. At one point when I registered the vehicle in Georgia the clerk accidentally entered the mileage incorrectly and issued me a title with the incorrect mileage. I noticed it and then went back down to the office and had them correct the mileage reading. That's all there was to it and I am 99% sure I still have all the paperwork to prove that. Additionally the odometer is digital and cannot be rolled back.
