You are bidding on a used 2008 model BMW R1200 GS Adventure that I purchased new in July 2008 from Long Beach BMW. I hold clear Californian certificate of title for this bike. This bike is fully loaded with all the BMW options including 3 aluminum saddle bags (with inner liners), ABS, ASC, ESA, Tyre pressure monitoring, Garmin GPS & heated grips. I have also installed the most common Tourtech & Wunderlich options for this bike including, headlight, oil cooler and throttle body protection, larger footpegs, adjustable shift lever, larger rear brake lever, larger side stand base, K&N air filter, throttle lock, heavy duty 'Squire' chain/padlock, torx head oil filler cap & magnetic sump plug. All the original parts are included. I have also installed a full Remus exhaust system which sounds superb, saves a few pounds and adds a couple of hp. The full original exhaust system is included in the sale and is in perfect working condition. The bike is in good mechanical and has been regularly ridden, mostly on paved roads commuting to work and back. The first service was conducted at the local dealership. Since then I have completed the servicings every 6000 miles in accordance with the BMW schedule. I am a mechanical engineer by education and test pilot by trade so you can be sure that the bike has been well cared for. It was properly run in and does not use any oil between servicings. The bike comes with a comprehensive tool kit that has all the tools that are required to keep it running in top condition including: BMW maintenance DVD, JVB Productuion R1200 Maintenance DVD, BMW spark plug socket, feeler gages, top dead centre locating pin, assorted sockets/wrenches, GS 911 diagnostic tool and electronic throttle body sync tool. I also have a set of valve cover gaskets, sump plug gaskets, and gear oil that is part of the deal. The rear tyre (Metzler Tourance) was replaced about 1000 miles ago, the last on lasted 11,000 miles, and this one still has .275" of tread at the centre. The front tyre is about 8,000 miles old, has 0.1" of tread at the centre and will need replacing soon. There are a couple of cosmetic blemishes you should be aware of if bidding on this bike. The 'R1200' decals on the right hand side of the fuel tank are starting to peel off as shown in the attached photo. The bike also blew over one day in 50mph winds while on the side stand. As a result there are some scratches on the right hand side tank protection bar and valve cover protection plate. The protectors did their job and there was no damage to the valve cover itself. The rear tyre hugger/mud guard has also cracked. The bike starts first time every time and returns 50 mpg at 60 mph and 45 mpg at 70 mph, so 400 miles is my easily achievable on a full tank. Payment. A deposit of $500 is required by PayPal within 3 days of the winning bid. Balance is due at pick up in cash or bank check. The bike will not be released without payment in full. I prefer for you to pick the bike up in person so you can see it first hand. Inspection prior to bidding is possible and I will make myself available if you wish to do this.
