Vehicle Detail

This car has the original factory paint. There has been no body work done to this car. It originally came from Burbank California & has never been driven in snow. The body has a few minor dents & dings but is solid & straight with virtually no rust for a car of this age. The only rust I have found is a hole in the spare tire well a little larger than a silver dollar. The grille has some minor damage that can be easily repaired. All of the trim is undamaged & could be restored to new condition. The bumpers are straight & undamaged. The undercarriage is solid & tight. The interior is in fair condition. The seats are in good condition. The dash is in great shape & all of the gauges work as well as the heater controls, headlight & wiper switches.. The wiring is original & in good shape. The door panels need attention & the headliner is only fair. All of the windows crank up & down & the windshield is new. The car runs & drives great. Put a battery in it & you can drive it home. The 225 Slant Six is strong & runs smooth. The 904 Totqueflite automatic transmission is also in good order. As mentioed it needs a battery as well as a few minor repairs. The radial tires are like new & have a lot of miles left on them. It could be a daily driver for very little additional investment. It would make a great restoration project. The car is 95% original in all respects. If a restoration is not what you have in mind, this would make a nice top shelf street rod. The car only weighs about 2600# W/the big old cast iron slant six. A new geneation Hemi would probably weigh less that the slant six. Terms are cash or certified check or money order. All funds MUST clear MY bank before the car leaves. New York state does not issue titles for a car of this age but it is registered & in order. Buyer must make shipping arrangement & pay for same. The car is locared in northen New York state near Massena, NY 13662.On Nov-13-10 at 07:19:23 PST, seller added the following information: This is an "HONEST" little car. It might not have shiney new paint, but IT DOESN"T HAVE ANY BONDO either. You won't find any hidden surprizes under a slick new paint job. An appraised dropped by yesterday to check the car out for a potential buyer. Some of his remarks: "It looks better undernieth than a 2000"! Where some of the undercoating has fallen off you can see shiney metal". "The doors shut better than my 2005". I doubt you will find a 1965 Vaiant that has better sheet metal. All of the minor dents & dings could be fixed in an afternoon W/a hammer/dolly & a quart or less of bondo. All of the door, hood & trunk lines are staight & even. It appears that this car has never been wrecked. The slant six engine fires right up when the nearly dead battery is jumped & is very very quiet. Once it warms up it adles smooth Y is very responsive to the accelerator. I adjusted the solid lifter & tuned the car up shortly after I purchased it. The starter was replaced shortly after I purchased the car. All the belts & hoses are new. The wiring has nearly all of the original terminals & the insulation is in good shape. The only thing electrical that is not original is the absence of the OEM radio. This car has new brake linings all the way around as well as new spring kits. Any leaking wheel cylinders have been replaced. It would take a minimal cash investment to make this car 100% mechanically. The current bid price as of 11/13 @ 10:00 AM EST is 1/2 of what the car is worth. I paid $3000 for the car because of the great condition it was in 3 years ago & I have spent another $800 on it. I do not really want to sell this car, but finacial reasons dictate that I liquidate some assets. If you are looking for a solid, nearly all original car to do a 1st rate restoration, don't let this exceptional car get away.
