1974 AMC Javelin 48k mile Florida car. Bought from original owner. Original owner bought it in Orlando from Bert Smith AMC. Original window sticker, protect-o-plate and other documents of provenance. Original 304,console auto, a/c, ps, disc brakes, factory tint. Fresh Plum in color with a black vinly top. It was repainted in 1999 and has held up beautifully. Still shines bright with some minor scratching that may buff out. Interior is mint only needing a good detailing.Factory 15 inch rallye wheels added. Everything else matches window sticker. I have the original wheels and hubcaps.This is not a concourse car but it will be hard to find a car this solid. There is surface rust on the firewall from a previously leaky master cylinder. There is a small hole on the core support near the battery.(under the tray is fine). There is also a small rust spot at the bottom of the driver side "A"pillar and a spot near the windshield trim at the bottom of the windshield on the driver's side. There is some minor bubbling in the lower rear quarters. Only a small spot or two the size of an eraser head under the vinyl roof. Floors, trunk, doors, door jams, drip rails, hood, trunk, fenders, and lower rear window panel are rust free. Engine compartment needs a good cleaning. Speedometer and odometer work fine. Dash lights, interior lights and radio(speaker) do not work. The a/c compressor comes on and the system is in tact but there is no freon in it as I imagine it has leaked out over time. Heater core need replacing. The windshield leaks and needs to be resealed, It was replaced at one time and was not correctly installed. Speaker grill in the dash is cracked but I have a replacement. The passenger side grab handle has usual cracks and the shifter handle needs replacing. Bumpers are faded and could use a re-chroming, but are rust free. The car needs nothing to be a daily driver and is a perfect candidate for a show car. The car sat from about 2002-2008. When I bought the car, I replaced all the necessary things to make it roadworthy. Brakes(master cylinder, calipers, rotors turned, seals, brake hoses, rear cylinders), radiator, carb rebuilt, water pump, starter, battery, alternator, voltage regulator, cap, rotor, points, plugs, wires, filters and fluids. Some of the seals are leaky from age but not serious. It runs down the road smooth, quiet and straight. It still has the original single exhaust! It has been garaged since I bought it in 2008. I do not have the time to finish the odds and ends on the car. I have put about 800 miles on the car since I bought it. This is an honest and detailed description of this car. Check around. You won't find a car this original and solid for the price. Don't spend $3k for a piece of junk. For a little more you will get a great platform that will turn heads!
