Vehicle Detail

Good condition, great-looking GB500 Tourist Trophy. All stock, all original (except for tires, battery, bulbs), with original deep green/black paint. All mechanical and electrical systems function correctly. Starts and runs well. Electric starter works. Very fun to ride- cruises nicely at 75 mph and can be coaxed above 60 miles per gallon. Features Honda's long-standing big single engine, used on many dirt bikes and a few road bikes for decades. One cylinder and one carburetor = easy maintenance. A few slight cosmetic flaws (see photos): There is a paint chip/rust spot on the upper right edge of the left side cover, about 5/16" dia. The rear cover panel behind the seat has a crack at the left side fastener; it has been glued and has held for years. The rear fender has a slight wrinkle on the right rear, possibly where it was bumped into and then straightened. The left foot peg bracket was once broken and was re-welded. The headlight lens is cracked, but the headlight works. There are a couple of scratches on the upper left front of the tank. Left handlebar weight and screw are missing- just noticed this as I was taking the pictures. Tires are fair, and have some tread left. Chain is OK, but has just about reached its limit. Battery holds a good charge, but it is a couple of years old now. Seat cover has no rips or tears. I rode this bike to work several times this year, but I don't ride it often enough to make it worth keeping. I bought this bike when it had 3500 miles on it from an 79-year old church deacon, who was always a bachelor, and so bought a lot of cycles over the years. This was his last bike, at the end of a string of Indians, Ariels, Triumphs, BMW's, Harleys, Goldwings, and a new Honda 305 which he rode from Waterloo, Iowa, to Denver, Colordo on $3.47 worth of gas. Enjoy!
