I’m a Wildcat fan and had good intentions to restore this one. It is truly a great restoration candidate as it’s originally from Texas, the body is straight, and it’s all original with everything pretty much there. When I purchased this car it was a runner but the previous owner mentioned the distributor could use some work, along with replacing the spark plugs. I took the battery out, as with most of these cars, there is a rusted battery tray which looks to have lead to some damage (light rust) on the wheel well. As for other locations of rust on the car…the driver side floor will need some work, behind both rear wheels/lower quarter panels will require work, and there is rust around the opening for the rear window (mostly the lower surround). The interior is all original in Buick green, the driver seat has tears/rips in it but the other seats aren't bad; there is one crack in the dash pad located near the center of the pad. The driver side fender has a small dent in the front of it and the front grill has a small downward bend on it; located on the top of the grill on the driver side. Back to the good…the doors sound great when they shut and all the chrome trim around the driver/passenger side doors is in stunning condition. As you would expect, it has the big block Buick 455 in it and is an original a/c car. This car looks as if it hasn’t been painted and was the original Buick yellow, black vinyl top with the original green Wildcat interior. There is one piece of chrome trim missing on the entire car, the small piece on the driver side front fender extension, otherwise this car even has all of the exterior trim (hard to find on these).
