Vehicle Detail

3 years ago I purchased this 1963 Buick Riviera to restore for my dad. The car was originally parked in a garage in 1971 by the original owner when he unexpectedly passed away. I picked up the car from the original owner's wife, who finally parted with the car after 37 years. I hooked up a battery and the car cranked! All the options worked - blower motor, lights, turn signals, radio, power antenna, etc. AT that time I determined the motor only had 70lbs compression from sitting for so many years and needed an overhaul. I pulled the motor and tore it down. Car and engine has 67000 original miles. Engine showed no signs of wear, no ridge in the cylinders, just the rings were tight in the pistons from years of sitting. I proceeded to start a rebuild when I came across a 64 parts car that was running. It was my plan at the time to pull the 64 drivetrain and put it in the 63. I *then* found out the frames are different from 63 to 64. SO - right now, the 64 425 engine has the crank from the 63 in it and needs finish assembly. I still have the cleaned and prepped original numbers matching 63 block to go with the car. You get both engines, 4 heads, 2 intakes, carbs, etc - what is left of the rebuild kit, new water pump, etc. Dynaflow trans in the car appears to be fine, fluid is nice and pink. Im sure the brakes and fuel system need a going through because the car sat so long. I could not verify the heater core - and they are a pain on these cars - so a new heater core is already replaced. I also have 2 radiators with the car - 1 is bad. I pulled the interior to check and repair rust. There are a few small holes that need still patching - i have the metal to do it - and I have already POR-15 and sealed the entire floor and have the glue to glue down the patches so it doesnt rust again. Outside this is probably the most original 1st gen riv you will find. All original sheet metal - laquer is flaked off in some places with surface rust - but no holes - its all there and tight - including inner and outer rockers, trunk, hood, etc. With family and work obligations, I cannot finish the car and have to sell it. Im selling it for WAYY less then even the cost of the parts and car. Car rolls fine on 37 year bias-ply tires! You will need a trailer of course to pick it up. Contact me with any questions. NOTE! Some of the pictures were taken before the interior was disassembled - car has been in my garage since I bought it. All parts are included that I have, including the 2 engines. Included with this auction are the interior items I already purchased from "Clark's Corvair" You get: 4 sets of seat covers that are original in 1963 Saddle Vinyl (paid $585 for the set) 1 Fiberglass rear package tray in Saddle Vinyl (paid $325) 1 gold formed carpet (paid $225) 4 gold, edge bound matching floor mats (paid $80) 1 set 4 pcs door panel wood inserts (paid $200) 1 set "option" console wood panels (paid $200) 1 set for both front seats foam "seat buns" (paid $225) Also included is several boxes of extra parts - not really needed for this car - but I accumulated them during this project - you get 2 complete door assemblies, complete with chrome, glass, etc, and 2 boxes full of extra grills, headlight assemblies, tie rods, spindles, control arms, brake drums and lots of other parts.
