Here is the full story of the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am you see here for sale. I bought the car in July of 2010 at a garage sale from the original owner. The car was inspected and on the road. He would drive the car to work once every 6 months and had it inspected every year. I bought the car from him and registered and insured it that Monday after. I drove the car for about a month and a half after that every day. I put 4 shocks in the car and a new radio in the glove box. One day on the way into work I tapped a F350 pickup in the rear, hitting the trailer hitch ball. I ordered a used nose assembly and right front fender from a Trans Am collector in California. These parts were top quality, rust free originals (cost me over $1000 plus shipping to NY). The hit did not break the original radiator or condenser. The radiator support is original and in great shape. We trimmed and primed the parts, fit them to the car, and I drove it home. I have about 3 project cars going right now and do not have time for this one. It breaks my heart to sell the car but such is life. I spent years searching for a rust free un molested original trans am like this. I have all the original parts removed from car. Other then the primer you see it is all original paint. The interior is also original but needs seat covers. The underbody of this car is nicer then some new cars I have seen. ZERO rust under car, NONE on lower cowl or in the trunk. Any rust I could see I took pictures of. The car has 72110 miles. I have the original paperwork from when the first owner purchased the car new. The car was a factory delete radio car but the first owner put a radio in it along the lines. A new am/fm/cd/aux radio is hidden in the glove box. I now have a clean NYS title in my name. I have over 20 high-res pictures of the car and videos of it running that can be emailed anytime. It is ready to drive right now. Mechanically needs NOTHING.
