Vehicle Detail

I just accepted a job in New York City and cannot afford to ship and store all of my cars, so my last acquisition has to go. This 1966 Coronet 440 is probably the best in terms of being a solid good running car, I just haven't started its restoration yet. This car is a solid survivor that has an actual 64,627 miles on it. (Just look at the engine pic.) It has all of its original glass in excellent shape, Just last week I drove this car from Chicago to Lima, Ohio (200 miles each way) and back for visitation with my daughter. This vehicle was garaged stored in Southern Illinois from 1996 to 2006 when the previous owner bought it. Over the next four years the previous owner kept a diary of everything he did to the car. Some of what was done includes: New brakes (complete: lines, cylinders, hardware and shoes), new tires, new alternator and new gas tank, gas lines and sending unit. It has a 318 V-8 engine, 727 automatic transmission. On the 400 mile trip it didn't use a drop of oil or any other fluid and ran and shifted smoothly. The previous owner bought everything needed to rebuild the carburetor because it is a little rough idling if you are at a light too long. If you get up over 80mph you can also feel some hesitation in the carburetors fuel flow. Even still I don't hesitate to tell anyone that if you buy it, you can confidently drive it 1,000 miles or more to get it home. If you want, my mechanic has offered to rebuild the carburetor before you pick up the car for $150. The trunk and engine compartment are solid. The overall body is solid. The body has normal dings and a few scrapes as well some rust repair needed. The front passenger floor pan will need repaired and the carpet will need to be replaced as a result. There are some rips in the front seats and the rear quarter of the headliner will need replaced. The car would make a reliable driver or a good restoration project. There is no reserve on the car. A $300 nonrefundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auctions close and the remainder must be paid within 7 days after that. Pick up must also be within that time. If buyer wants car shipped, the buyer must pay for it and make all arrangements. I am willing to drive the car to a Chicago area shipper to save buyer money.
