IT WAS SPECIAL ORDERED AND RECIEVED BY FORD ON 3/22/68 SERIALIZED ON 4/02/68 BUCKED ON 4/09/68 SCHEDULED FOR BUILD ON 4/11/68 ACTUALLY BUILT ON 4/18/68 RELEASED 4/26/68 AND SOLD 5/03/68 IT WAS BUILT IN KANSAS CITY AND SHIPPED TO DETRIOT MI . WHERE THE PLOT THICKENS THE CAR WAS sent to FLOYD RICE FORD 14300 LIVERNOIS DETRIOT MI 48238 WHILE AT FLOYD RICE FORD IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT THIS CAR WAS THE PHOTO OPP CAR AT THE DETRIOT DRAG STRIP FOR FORD IN 1968 AND IT SEEMS FLOYD RICE FORD WAS A VERY BIG SPONCER AT THE DRAG STRIP AND SEEMS TO SOUND RIGHT but more research will be needed to say 100%. IT LEFT FORD AS A PRESIDENTIAL BLUE CAR WITH BLUE VINYL bench SEAT A 428-4V / C-6 AUTO AND 3.50 TRACTION -LOC AXEL RATIO THAT WAS THEN AND 40 + years have taken a toll . the eng / trans are long long gone as is the bench seat and front disc rotors the trunk and floor pans look ok with typical rust on the rear quarters and around the rear spring hangers.dash pad needs to be replaced . tires and wheels were replaced with some rollers that means NO MAGS . It has been painted several diff colors and drag raced at some point in it's history and should be NO secret to anyone that knows 428 cj's. the original presidential blue is still visable on the rear package shelf . the car looks pretty good for a hard life. 660 total all model fords with a 428/ c6 combo were built but the fairlane club said only ---367--- 1968 428 torino gt fastbacks were built out of the 660 total. 366 auto's and ONE 4 speed car.this car needs restored but heck anybody can find a mustang or small block fairlane but how many can say they have king kong a REAL R CODE 428 cobra jet car !!!! look and ask any / all questions before you bid on this car.if you can't / won't work on it or spend the money to have it done right then maybe you need to start looking at 6 cyl mavricks and leave this once in a life time find to someone who knows what they are really getting ! this car needs to be paid for before it's loaded up !!!NO you can NOT drive it ! again please ask all questions first before you bid. 0 or NEG feedback need not bid .
