Vehicle Detail

This beautiful little silver BRAT has 126,000 miles on it and is really a sweet car with no rust and all original paint and original stock parts. It has a 1800 cc turbocharged engine with 3 speed automatic transmission and electronic (push-button) 4WD, power steering, power windows, Subaru AM/FM cassette radio, removable t-tops, jump seats, dual air horns and a custom cover for the rear bed. The seats are in good shape as is the rest of the interior. The air is ice cold, the cruise control works, the four wheel drive is engaged with a button on the shift lever (electronic engaging on the fly). The cover for the rear bed rolls up and snaps behind the cab. It can also be easily removed and re-installed (in about 30 seconds). The wheels are alloy with a bronze anodizing which might appear as rust in the photos (but definitely is not). The tires have less than 1500 miles on them, and the water pump, rear shocks and battery are new. The rockers, floors, the upper shock mounts in the rear wheel well, and the front strut towers (which are impossible to fix) are all rust free. All of the parts that are getting hard to come by and usually break or wear out first, things like rubber and door parts, hinges, trim around the bed, are all flawless. The car also comes with $1000 - $1200 worth of spare Brat parts. The reason I'm selling the car is because I have limited garage space and I would hate to have to store it outside. This car was owned and maintained by my Dad who recently passed away. He was in the automobile business his entire life and started selling and repairing foreign cars in 1946. He raced sports cars and maintained several race cars for other people. He consulted on engine modifications for companies like Bendix Aviation. He was meticulous about the care of his cars and all required maintenance was done properly. The car was used by him in Daytona Beach Florida and was always garaged. Consequently, it has never seen snow or salt and has virtually NO rust. It also has a perfect dashboard which is not dried out and cracked from the sun like most Brats. I drove the car from Florida to New York in January and it ran like a champ. It was an easy trip and with the car loaded with spare parts and my luggage it still got decent gas mileage (>27) at 70 – 75 mph. For somebody who wants a BRAT that is in excellent condition with low mileage and factory original paint, trim, and interior, this is the car for you. Mechanically the Brat really shines; it is not uncommon to get decent performance out of an engine long after 200,000 miles. With the T-tops out and the rear slider open this car is a blast to drive and there is almost no where it won't go. You will find out why everyone wants one. I also have an inventory list and photos of the spare parts that come with the car. For anyone interested, I could e-mail it to you. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
