Here is a very nice daily driver. It has a few custom things done to it, but very minor. The handlebars are set up more like a cafe racer, but are very comfortable. I just had a vintage motorcycle mechanic go through this bike. I wanted to drive it anywhere, and not have any worries. He did just that. He did a thorough inspection of the bike. The front calipre had to be rebuilt and adjusted. The valves were set to spec. The plugs were changed. He took the whole rack of carbs off the bike and rebuilt them and set them back to factory specs. He also set the timing. This bike runs incredibly well. I love driving it, but just bought a new boat, and now need to sell my collection of vintage motorcycles. I have a rare Chaparral st80. I also have a very stock Kawasaki 125 Enduro. Both will be on other Ebay auctions. The seat on this Honda CB500 is in great original shape. The gas tank trim is probably in need of replacement if you want to finish this bike to original. Some of the chrome on the shocks in the back have minor surface rust. The tank is in great shape and has the original cap release that wasn't updated (kinda rare). This bike is very original other than a couple things that could be easily changed (handlebars and rear foot pegs). The exhaust sounds great! Baffles are good. This bike, to ride, is an awesome experience. I am totally impressed. The tires are in great shape. A few tiny dings in front fender. Tank has been repainted and looks really nice. This bike is not perfect, but is as nice as some others that have recently sold here on Ebay. I have it priced for a quick sale. This is about a grand cheaper than a lot of bikes sold on Ebay of the same condition. If you don't know how to search recently sold items, just go to advanced search, type in honda cb500, and make sure you check the box that says "completed listings only". There was a similar one of the same year, with more than 3 times the miles as this one, that brought $2500. A couple others brought similar $. If you are wanting to get into collecting this vintage bikes as an investment, this one would be a perfect start. The price is very reasonable for this clean and sound of a bike. No mechanical issues at all. The bike is ready to drive from state to state. (or park in your shop!)
