The Bad: Trans Failsafe Code on the information screen. This "ZF5-HP30" transmission is unpredictable; sometimes it shifts fine, other times it shifts like a drag car (RPM's really high). It has been driving fine but I am not sure how long the trans will last. I dont have the time to fix the trans so that is why the car is being listed. Rust starting on the bottom of the trunk, as shown in the pictures. The cruise control is not reliable. Now the good: Engine has 97,000 miles while the chassis has 181,052. There was a recall of the M60 4.0 BMW blocks and it was replaced by the dealer at 84,000 miles. I have the documentation as well as the documentation of all dealer visits. The car has a new Specter air filter along with new spark plugs. The rear-end fluid was changed at the beginning of the year. The exhaust was plugged up with catalytic converter so the exhaust has been replaced from the cats back with a single 3" exhaust into a chambered Thrush muffler. The DOHC V8 sounds wild! I also buffed, polished and waxed the paint & indicator lights. The throttle cable has also been changed. The car comes with a 3 cd dealer repair manual by ETK, and a service manual by Bentley Publishers. I also have a Bavarian Autosport Code reader with the manual. A serpentine belt comes with it as well. The car is being sold as is. Pickup only. This car would be a great candidate for a 6speed swap from a 1992-1996 BMW 540i with the same engine. Glove box handle is fine, the cup holders do not work. The brakes were changed by the previous owner the fronts are fine but the right rear has lost the anti-rattle clip so there is some rattling at low speeds. Also the brakes were changed only, it has the old rotors on. Battery; again the previous owner changed the battery, I do not know what brand I have not had any problems with it.
