Vehicle Detail
This is a 1969 Volkswagen Campmobile. It has been very very well cared for over the years and is in wonderful condition. what it has: Wood interior, shelves along side and under fold-out bed, fold-out table, pop up camper top, original spare canvas bunk for front, ice box with sink on top, cassette player/radio with single speaker, original owners manual (stamped with first check-ups and oil changes). condition: The engine is in perfect running condition, the man we bought it from was a mechanic and took very good care of it, it starts up without trouble and has literally no trouble at all. For a bus it also has a lot of acceleration and speed, it accelerates faster than my 1996 VW golf if that tells you anything. The interior wood is spotless and not cracked or hurt in any other way. The upholstery is new, the people who owned it before us just redid it and it looks very nice. Most of the window and door seals were recently replaced, there are no cracked windows or problems with them in any way. the exterior is in almost flawless condition, there are a few small spots of rust on the fenders and the body, and the around the wheel wells, along with some scratches going down the body, but overall in very good condition. the pop-up canvas is in overall good condition with a few small holes around the bottom and the corners, also one of the zippers is broken off. for the most part the bus is in great condition, it runs and all the camping gear works and everywhere I drive it I get compliments, more than once I have had people ask me if they could take pictures of the interior and exterior. This truly is a great car. Inspection/problems: We had the car inspected when we first got it by a very trusted mechanic who specializes in classic Volkswagens and here are the main problems.Front brakes are at like 35% and need to be replaced soon, they still work well but you can tell when you use them that they are low. rear brakes are not working same with the parking brake, transmission is running fine, have had no problems and mechanic said it is fine. The steering system works but needs to be fixed, the entire system needs to be replaced. Like I said it drives fine, there is a lot of play in the steering wheel especially in high wind but it is still fairly easy to drive. The bottom is rusty, there are spots in the wheel wells where you can see through, however it is all repairable and not too bad. The main point is that this is not a perfect car, it is 42 years old and will need some work, but overall it is a great buy. I love this bus, me and my girlfriend bought it thinking that we could keep it and fix it up a bit, but we didn't factor in college expenses and other living expenses. Bottom line is that we cannot afford to keep this car, I would love to keep it but need the money more. We woulds be happy to answer any questions about the bus or talk to you to figure anything out. We will do the Ebay independent inspection thingy, we are here to help! watch the video, it covers all the major bases and should be very helpful, I can add photos and video on request. We would like to sell it before winter, please make an offer. thank you
