I drive it every day to work, have taken it on long road trips, use it skiing, camping, around the farm and on the job site. It needs maintenance like any machine, but it is GOOD TO GO! If you want a unique, fuel efficient work truck for commuting, working, and enjoying the great outdoors, this is it. If you want to show off your own finishing touches at the next competitive event, that is this truck's next step. Detailed Description: History Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 On Oct-24-10 at 06:53:53 PDT, seller added the following information:Though changed in the listing title and in the detailed description text, I failed to update the year of the factory crate engine in the brief description. It is indeed a factory 1981 Nissan SD33T turbo-diesel. Also, I failed to mention that when welding a passenger side rocker, heat form the welding deformed the bed panel above. It looks a bit wavy from certain angles, but not terrible nor out of character for the truck. Just not 'show' quality. Also, I failed to mention that in addition to a turbo boost gauge (which has a loose plastic bezel you can glue back on easily), there is also an exhaust gas temperature (pyrometer) gauge installed on the dash. This is very helpful in order to determine the amount of work the engine is doing at any given moment, and downright critical to know when to back off the accelerator to avoid over-heating. There is also a second newer turbo boost gauge, used by the previous owner as a fuel pressure gauge when he had an auxiliary electric fuel pump installed, but I have removed that system. It is an extra complication, but could be added for filter change/fuel bleeding convenience. Lastly, the steering rag joint has been replaced with a top-of-the-line universal joint, which is very rugged and responsive.
