Vehicle Detail

For sale, a 1991 Mazda Miata with many new parts. This miata was well taken care of by me and I only drove it about 2,000 miles in the year and a half that I owned it. Great running, no fluid leaks, no smoke, engine and drivetrain are excellent. This is the long nose crank 1.6 liter motor so no worries of crank problems. The car has a few flaws but overall very nice condition for it's age. It is lowered on coilovers in the front and lowering springs in the rear. I originally had coilovers in the rear as well but was not happy with the ride so I swapped in some springs instead. The engine is 100% stock with the only performance modification being a Racing Beat cat back exhaust. Their are carbon fiber mirrors installed and white faced gauges that were installed by the previous owner. The previous owner also painted a set of later model miata wheels and these are installed as well. They are 15 inch opposed to the 14 inchers originally found on the car. I think they look much better than the stock wheels. I have removed the AC system from the car as it was not working when purchased. Below I will list all the new parts and service that has been performed and also every known flaw that the car has. I hope to be as descriptive as possible so that you can know exactly what you are buying before making a bid. I have spent over a thousand dollars in all the maintenance I have done to the car and I'm trying to make at least a little bit of the money back. With any old car, especially a 19 year old miata much of the service that I have done will have to be done at some point anyway. If you purchase a miata that has not had these things done to it you will end up spending thousands of dollars as well. Here is a good example of a strong miata with a lot of the work done already. I had planned to fix the remaining flaws with the car and enjoy it but I have a baby on the way and will be unable to keep my two seater project. Parts: New passenger side window regulator New valve cover gasket New timing belt New water pump New power steering belt New front brake calipers New front brake rotors New front brake pads New front left lower ball joint New inner and outer tie rods New rear shock top hats New Koni yellow shocks all around New 949 Racing subframe braces New spark plugs installed in last 6 months New plug wires installed in last 6 months Service: New transmission fluid New rear differential fluid New coolant as of water pump install about 6 months ago Fresh brake fluid Recent alignment Flaws: There is some rust on the car, there was a hole which I have POR15'd and patched (albeit a bit ugly), it has shown no new rust since I owned it and the holes are very discrete. Today when tightening the power steering belt my hand slipped on the wrench and broke the temperature sensor. It still works and this has not caused any problems but it should probably be replaced at some point. I do not believe it would be that expensive. One bolt on the thermostat housing is broken off. The car will need a new throwout bearing at some point. Currently it is noisy when decelerating in a gear. Throwout bearings are inexpensive and although the clutch is fine you could probably do both while the transmission is off. The soft top drips on the passenger side where the windshield meets the door window. It is a slow drip but a leak none the less. I have had the car in the garage for most of the time that I owned it and it has rarely seen much rain. The rear tires will need to be replaced at some point. They are the tires I purchased the car with and will be fine to drive on but the tread is low and they slip in the rain. The front tires are fine with plenty of tread. The paint has the usual scratches and dings for its age. I have photographed all the cosmetic flaws. It still shines up pretty nice with some wax.
