Vehicle Detail
IMPORTANT STUFF I have included a Carmax appraisal offer dated 10/16/2010. This appraisal offer of $5,000 is my starting bid so you know you are getting a great, safe deal! Kelley Blue Books TRADE-IN value in GOOD CONDITION is listed as $7,525; PRIVATE PARTY value in GOOD CONDITION is listed at $10,020. Since Carmax does not sell vehicles with 100K+ miles on their lot, they "low ball" their appraisal offers because they just act as a middle man and sell the car to a wholesale auctioneer who then sells the cars to small local dealers at normal KBB rates. I purchased this vehicle in 2006 with approximately 37,000 miles on it. All repairs have been performed by BMW dealers. I just put brand new all season tires (all 4 replaced July 2010). A new water pump and serpentine belt was installed in September 2010. Car passed Virginia inspection July 2010. Oil has been changed every 3K-5K miles, always with synthetic oil. Car has been garage kept and driven by a non-smoker. I have included several pictures of the actual vehicle for sale in this listing. Car is being sold AS-IS. Please ask questions and/or make arrangements to inspect vehicle PRIOR TO BIDDING. I am disclosing any known issues about the vehicle in this listing but as with any high mileage car, anything can happen at any time. I have a perfect feedback rating for a reason. I do not misrepresent my listings and I do not rip people off. I will list any known issues about the vehicle below: Small indent on drivers side of hood above headlight. This was caused by the mechanic who just installed the water pump because he had to replace the hood cable in order to open the hood to make the repair. Self Leveling Suspension Inactive fault code displays in instrument cluster (see picture). I believe a sensor needs to be replaced but I have not taken the car in for this. I have been driving the car with this error code for at least 6 months without issue. Yellow brake/ABS warning lights occasionally illuminate in the instrument cluster but this has not happened for a while. Not sure if it was a fluke or a very intermittent minor problem. KEY FEATURES Power Windows & Locks Front Driver & Passenger Seats Power Moonroof Black Leather Interior All Wheel Drive Automatic Transmission w/Steptronic Manual Shifting Option BMW DVD Navigation System BMW 6 Disc Changer Cold Weather Package Included Heated Steering Wheel, Heated Front & Rear Seats EXTRAS I added BMW original equipment Sport series taillights, sidelights, and sport rims. This makes the vehicle look 100% better than the standard lights and rims. There is also a professionally installed K40 radar detector system included. A sensor is mounted in the front and rear of the vehicle. Warning lights for each sensor is concealed in between the center vents and Navigation screen. This unit came with the vehicle and the fuses have been removed since I live in Virginia where radar detectors are illegal. I have the fuses that can be re-installed if vehicle will be operating outside of Virginia. TERMS Once again, vehicle is being sold AS-IS. A $500 deposit via Paypal is due at auction close with the balance due 3 business days after auction close in the form of CASH; CASHIER's CHECK; or POSTAL MONEY ORDERS. Cashier's checks will need to be verified before taking delivery of vehicle. $500 deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances and successful bidder is liable for total winning bid amount being paid to seller under the above terms without exception. Vehicle is ready for immediate pickup upon specified payment. Vehicle is located approximately 10 miles west of Leesburg, Virginia. Transport if desired must be arranged by buyer and buyer assumes all responsibility for transport and related payment. New for 2003 BMW X5 For 2003, the BMW X5 gets adaptive brake lights, a rear-seat Head Protection System is standard, and the navigation system has been improved and is now DVD-based. Some option packages have been upgraded, depending on model. Introduction The X5 represents BMW's first foray into the popular sport-utility-vehicle marketplace. Billed as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" by its maker, the X5 is designed to handle like a true BMW. The X5 was unveiled in Detroit at the 1999 North American International Auto Show. By the end of its second model year, the X5 became BMW's second best selling series. BMW X5 is fast, comfortable, and prestigious. It delivers superb handling and excellent performance. X5's straight-line and freeway manners are great. It feels stable, the steering is precise, and the ride is smooth. The V8 engines provide plenty of power, making the X5 faster in the race away from traffic lights than most cars. For 2003, X5 is more luxurious and better-equipped. X5 is sporty, stylish and upscale. That twin-kidney grille indicates a successful owner. It also indicates BMW's reputation for quality and driving excitement. It works well in foul weather, and easily negotiates muddy trails. Inside, it's luxurious and comfortable. It also offers the command seating position many people like. Perhaps those are among the reasons X5 sales are so strong. BMW sold 42,742 X5s in 2002, up from 2001. For 2003, all X5 models feature brake lights that illuminate quickly and more intensely under hard braking. Adjustable ride height is now available on 3.0i and 4.4i models with the Sport Package. The tires that come with the 4.4i Sport Package have been upgraded from H-rated to V-rated, and the electronic speed limiter is now deleted with this package, lifting top speed from 128 to 143 mph (though, again, we don't recommend traveling at those velocities). Interior leather is smoother for 2003. Onboard navigation is functionally improved and now features a DVD database. And the rear-seat Head Protection System (HPS) is now standard, a very important feature.
