1983 VW RABBIT GTI : 1.8L 4 cyl 5spd Clear PA Title What you have here is a good head start on a restore project. Much work has been done in the engine bay, lots of new top-end parts. I had it started a few months ago and the engine was strong and idled great once warmed up. Battery will need replaced as my charger can't top it off. I've always suspected that overhead-cam work has been done by a previous owner but cannot confirm for sure. I've had a few of these over the years and this one definitely had extra torque I could not account for. Replaced: Eursport Exhaust Techtonics CAT Fuel Distributor Fuel Injectors Fuel Injector Lines Bosch Fuel Pump Cold-Start Valve Distributor Cap + Rotor Valve cover gasket Was a daily driver a few years ago but will need to be towed because it has sat for several years. Tires have dry rot, brakes and suspension should be gone over, needs shifter bushings. Body is straight especially considering the age, surface rust in spots. Passenger side rear wheel well needs repair (see pictures). I removed the wheel well flares for these pictures but they are included in this auction. The interior shows typical signs of age but it's all there. Crack on top of dash, sagging headliner, windows crank but are tight. Wheels are 14" 18 spoke Audi type. Sad to see her go, but I just don't have the time to finish. This is a no reserve auction. I am also listing this vehicle locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.
