The paint retains it's original luster and has no sign of fade or dulling anywhere, it is extremely deep and shiny and it shows consistent of a car with 181k miles. The paint and leather where always maintained with high end products (Zymol, Griots, Lexol, etc.). All of the exterior chrome and rubber trim is in excellent condition and hold their original colors and brightness. The glass is also in great shape.The interior of the car is also in mint condition and barely shows any wear. The leather is soft and the color is bright, again no fade. It retains it's original texture and give. The wood shows the same with absolutely no cracking or clouding of the finish. Driver side seat has a minor tear and molding on driver side door is missing, a very easy fix. Aside from that every button and switch in the car works as it was intended. Seats and headrests work in all positions. The air conditioning and climate control work perfectly. The headliner sits perfectly as it did when new. The carpets are free from any dirt or staining. Mechanically, the car is perfect. It is very responsive and comfortable. It drives the same as it did when it was new. It has brand new tires and is up to date on maintenance. There are no leaks in my garage and the car does not burn oil. The engine looks almost new, I can still see original label and coatings from when it left the factory. The 300E is one of the best and most popular cars that Mercedes has ever built. I doubt that there are very many left in this condition and with extremely low miles. As a 1986, it was the last year for the 300E and I would think most collectible. This car is just about as close to getting a new 300E that you can get, a very rare opportunity. It is in showroom condition. There are no disappointments with this car. This car has had only one owner, originally leased from Mercedes-Benz of New England and then purchased at the end of lease. It has always been garaged and used as a weekend car. Initially used as transportation from NYC to Connecticut home on weekends and later left in CT as an additional car and rarely used. This car is in mint showroom condition and has only 181k miles on it.
