Up for auction is one very exceptional 1979 Toyota Supra (MKI). 1979 was the first year for the Supra in the U.S., which was Toyota's attempt to compete with the Datsun Z cars of the 70's. This Supra is a true survivor, as it still shows beautiful in its original factory copper metallic paint (the photos are a very true representation of how nice this car looks in person). The interior is in super nice condition, with a flawless dash pad and gauge cluster, perfect door panels and reupholstered seats. Everything works in this jewel, and with only 104k on the ticker, the engine and drive-train still run like that of a four year old car (it's amazing). I've been driving this car around Phoenix in over 100 degree heat and I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country tomorrow as there are no signs of any mechanical issues or problem areas. This car has had one previous owner from 1979 until this past May, and they cared for it so well you would swear that they stored in a time capsule for the past 25 years. The paint is still very nice, and the minor body dings are trivial considering the condition of this car as a whole. Whenever someone sees this car, they comment on how nice it is and ask questions. It's just a great little car with a strong Toyota pedigree, and you won't likely see another in this condition at my "Buy It Now" price anytime soon. This is a No Reserve auction, so bid with confidence as it will sell to the highest bidder if the "Buy It Now" option isn't taken advantage of. If the "Buy It Now" price is met, I will include a new passenger compartment carpet kit, as the floor of the rear seat area is tattered a bit. Here are some additional details: * Copper Metallic exterior with Tan interior * 2.6 Inline 6 cylinder electronic fuel injected (EFI) engine * 5 speed manual trans * Four wheel disc brakes * A/C blows ice cold (even in 110 degree Arizona heat) * Factory AM/FM Stereo with four speakers...plus a rare dealer added cassette deck (works and sounds great for the era) * Factory quartz clock, tachometer, oil pressure, water temp, volt meter gauge cluster * Power windows * Tilt Steering wheel (steering wheel shows nice, covered because of the Arizona climate, not hiding damage) * New Arizona legal window tint * Flawless factory aluminum alloy wheels (no curb rash, clear coat peel, etc) * New Michelin 195R70-14 radial tires (all matching tires with less than 500 miles) * New battery Mechanically speaking, this car needs nothing. It runs and drives awesome and will absolutely not disappoint. Cosmetically this car is very respectable, as in the paint is very shiny, the inside shows very nice, and despite a few dings in the paint (very minimal - see photos) this classic Supra could be shown with pride anywhere.
