Vehicle Detail

1953 Chevrolet Series 3100 Half-Ton Rat rod Pickup Warning: If you don not want or like attention, then this truck is not for you! You can cruise this truck anywhere and get a thumbs up, head nod or you will find a crowd of people standing around it. The rage of Rat Rodding is taking over the high dollar built hot rods that have been ruling the show scene. People are spending endless hours & gobs of money on custom rides when it is just as easy to appreciate the time that has gone into the whole complete look of the Rat Rod. ENGINE: The 235 cu. in. straight-six engine "105 Hi-Torque" six as a bore of (3.5625" or 9049 mm) and stroke of (3.9375" or 100.01 mm). This engine also had a dipper system to the oiling system. Motor is stock with no mods. New water pump, thermostat, and radiator is newer as well. There is a new set of spark plugs and yellow 7mm accel spark plug wires. To turn this engine over, there is an new battery. Tranny is a stock 3-speed manual shift on the column. Exhaust is straight and ran all the way to the back with no muffler. There is a rear mounted flame thrower to roast hot dogs with or you can set the car on fire that pulls to close to you at the red light. INTERIOR: Green apple vinyl over a burlap inserts in on the bench seat. Seat is cut down so you can ride dirty. Floor board has vintage license plates as floor mats. We still have the foot starter on the floor. A large steering wheel still exists just like it came from the factory. Gauges are a full needle instrumentation. the ones that are working are the oil and temp, speedo is broke, but do still light up. the headliner is done in bamboo. The gear shift knob is one wicked tiki man! Pin stripping is on everything and anything that is metal inside of the cab of the truck. One can never have to much pin stripping. EXTERIOR: This 53' (aka my weekend toy" came from the backwoods of Kentucky so it does have "some" rust. Previous owners and myself never could figure out what color we wanted to paint the truck so as you can see the patina that is on the truck looks pretty freakin cool. Pin stripping is all over the truck, see the pictures for more detail. Bamboo on the inserts on the bed, custom made rear skirts with stars, cab visor, fake chrome dual spot lights, headlight visors, curb feelers, hood ornament, red skill turn signals (not currently wired at the moment), jail bars for the back window and last but not least, one chrome Chevy emblem. Chrome can't get you home boys! CHASSIS: Lowered - what you see is what you get- it is on the ground! Front and rear springs have been modified, rides nice, smooth, maybe a little bounce or two! This truck is a BLAST to drive, pure nostalgia here. I will consider trades for Harley's, Chopper's, Corvette's, Pre-1966 Chevy pick-ups, wagons, suburbans, convertible's and coupes.
