I am selling this for my father. This is a 1957 Desoto Adventurer with the 345 CI Hemi with dual 4 barrel Carter carburetors. He purchased the car back in 1978 and intended to restore it. Fast forward, he is now 85 years old and is down sizing and needs to sell. He also is the owner of an identical in color 1957 Adventurer which he purchased new. He is very confident that what he is selling is the real deal. As you can see in the pictures it needs a total restoration. He has the trunk lid letters and the passenger side inner door panel, but the car is missing the front top fender molding, one trunk lid molding and the letter D on the hood. The engine runs and has good oil pressure. Transmission shifts into gear good when backed out of and into the garage. The brake shoes had been replaced and drums were turned but the master cylinder has gone out. The parking brake is used to move the car in and out of the garage. My father say's it ran and shifted good when he drove it last. The car has no power options on it other than brakes and steering. It has some rust but nothing major as it spent some of its life in Arizona. He is the second owner of record. He has some history of the original owner. One of these was sold at Mecum Auction in October of 2009 in Branson MO. for $110,000.00, so you have room to work when restoring this one. Vehicle will need to be trailered or shipped. 10 % down payment with in 48 hours after close of bidding and full payment due with in 7 days after close of bidding. Vehicle must be picked up within 2 weeks of close of bidding.
