Vehicle Detail

Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the rare 5.9L V8 engine. I bought this as a personal project because I have always wanted one of these but I can't keep it. Loving cars is a bad thing for a wholesaler like me. I have access to thousands of cars per week and I love cars...sometimes I buy to have something cool rather than make money. This would be one of those cars. I put lots of work into this Jeep. I will be completely honest about everything I know about it. Someone with a little more knowledge and time can have a great Jeep with little effort. These 5.9's are getting hard to find. Please read the whole description. Ask any questions before you bid. This vehicle is being relisted because the high bidder thought that winning the auction gave her the "option" to come look at it (which she never even did). Please only bid if you are serious about owning this truck. Non-paying bidders really mess me up. Selling on ebay is not cheap; please respect that. On the outside, this is a sharp looking truck. The white paint looks great. There are no major scratches, dents or scuffs to be found. The windows are professionally tinted all around which give the truck a sleek look. It sports Laredo wheels and no 5.9 badging, making it a total sleeper. The only give away of what's under the hood are the hood louvers and painted grill which are specific to the 5.9 model. There is a K&N cool air intake and an exhaust that gives it a menacing rumble. There is a new tire on the right rear but the others should be replaced. I could find no rust anywhere on this Jeep. Inside you will find a very well kept interior. The carpets are great, the seats are still supple with no rips and the headliner is nice and tight. There are no cracks on the dash or door panels. The previous owner must have had a nice stereo because there is a soundbar overhead and the radio has been removed. I bought a factory Infinity stereo with cassette and CD. I will include this with the truck, It is loaded with all the goodies like power seats, heated seats, info center...you name it. The 5.9 models all come with the full time AWD as far as I know. Mechanically the Jeep is in great condition. When I bought this Jeep it had a severe misfire...it barely ran. I had the whole thing gone through and tested every system. it turned out to be the cylinder head. I replaced both heads with new ones that carry a one year warranty. The old heads are in one of the photos of the cargo area. The engine now runs great. It starts right up and idles great. The ABS light is on. The code is a right rear short circut, easy. I think when the engine got put back together, the oil pressure sending unit must have been overlooked. When I bought it the oil pressure was great. I noticed the oil pressure guage didn't move when I got it back. The engine is super quiet so I didn't pay much mind to it. I looked online for the location of the sender then went to the Jeep and found the sensor not in its place. I don't know how to fix it and I don't want to break it so I left it go. The only other thing of note is that there is an aftermarket alarm in this one (notice it in the picture all hanging there). If you lock the doors using the drivers power lock button, the alarm arms. The trouble with this is that I don't have a remote and using the key will not disarm it. There is a kill switch under the dash in the mess of wires that will turn it off but that would be annoying to do all the time. The next owner will have to either figure out what system it is and get remotes or have the system removed. I was going to remove it but once I got all of those wires down, I realized I was out of my league and left it all untouched. This Jeep doesn't need much. Again, please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. Ebay is not a joke...please only bid if you are serious about buying. All auctions are subject to a $99 administrative fee. If you have a feedback score of less than 5 please contact me before bidding. I may cancel any bids I don't feel comfortable with.
