Vehicle Detail
I just saved this car from a certain date with a salvage yard in the hopes that someone will see the potential in it and decide to do something with it. It is a 1966 Buick Lesabre 400 it is a complete car with the original motor ( 340 Wildcat) and automatic transmission that has sat for about 20 years. The car is not running, I believe the fan did turn by hand, the carb is frozen and would need to be soaked for awhile, surprisingly enough all the fluid levels on the car were fine. The car does need lower quarters and trunk floor. On the right rear side there is supposed to be a bracket on the frame that supports the body mount but it has rusted away. The car has not been on lift therefore I cannot comment on rest of frame although from what I can feel from underneath the rockers appear to be solid. In addition to the trunk floor the little channel that runs along the trunk where the weatherstripping goes has rusted away and would need to be replaced, this does not affect the opening or closing of trunk. The rust that you see on the fenders, trunk, roof and hood is surface rust, there is a dent on the roof probably from a falling branch but could probably be banged out fairly easily. The interior is about what you would expect from a car that has sat for 20 years. The door panels are in pretty good shape, the dash cap is currently off (on the back seat) it was taken off sometime in the past for some sort of electric repair. The seats are actually in very good condition all things considered except of course for being dirty, headliner is shot. The passenger door does not currenlty open, this is not because of body damage, something has obviously come loose inside of door, this should also be pretty easy to fix. Following parts are in good shape, fenders, doors, grill, glass, chrome, bumpers, headlights, tail light lenses, hood, trunk. The front bumper and grill are actually in very good condition. There is currently a trailer hitch attached to car. Again I am hoping someone sees the potential here for possible restoration, parts, maybe even bracket racer, use your imagine. Car is being sold as is. If this listing does not work out the car will definetly go to salvage yard I do not the space to keep it, so someone save this classic.
