Vehicle Detail
This is a 1998 Ford Contour LX that is for sale with NO RESERVE!!!!! Whatever the highest bid is, is what gets the car. This car is white on the outside and is black on the inside. It has optional A/C, AM/FM radio with tape player. Dual PWR Mirrors and it still has the factory spare tire with jack and tire iron. The Ford has just been fully detailed as of (09/04/10) on the exterior and interior. This car runs and drives. The title is from Florida and is clean and clear. (No loans/liens, etc). To myknowledge and according to NC/SC DMV the title will not need to be notarized if you live in NC/SC. This is B/C Florida does not require a notary. I do not know about other states policies though. This car is located in Tega Cay, South Carolina. You can call me or email me with any questions etc. at 336-602-6444 and the email is akruczk@hotmail.com. The following link is a youtube video of a full test drive of the car just click on the link or copy and paste it into your web browser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr2z3R_ioU4 (Sorry no sound). Now this is not a perfect car, so if you are looking for a brand new car, go to the dealership. The car will need some repairs done to it. The engine idles rough, the car has been tuned up so it is not that, It may have something to to with the front driver side CV Joint being shot. I do not know. And yes that CV joint will need to be replaced. The check engine light will flash and then go off. The code is for the rough idle. After the idle smooths out the engine light remains off. One mechanic diagnosed the rough idle and said that a sensor that is somehow connected with the timing of the car would need to be replaced because the sensor does not work therefore the car is idleing rough. I have never gotten a definite answer though on what the problem is.The tires on the car are in ok condition with two of them being good. The other two will need to be replaced eventually. However, you can drive the car away with the tires it has on it now. The second thing is cosmetic. Note: that is does not affect the driving of the car whatsoever. On the drivers side front fender, it looks like it had been hit in a parking lot. There are a few cracks in the fender. It is not noticable from a distance but it is there. Some bondo and paint will take care of that or a trip to the body shop. The battery is fairly new but since it has been sitting for a few weeks it will need to be driven for a few miles to get its full charge back. But it still starts just fine, I start it up at least twice a week. The third thing is that there is an oil leak that has recently formed. I don't know where it is coming from. I have had a mechanic look over it and he said it could be repaired but would need to actually get it up on the lift to see where the leak is coming from. Finnally the transmission shifts hard from first to second gear. The mechanic says it might need new coils. The car has been a great daily driver for years to and from Florida. All highway miles! Now it is a second car for me that is laying around the yard. So it is time to sell it. All and all this is a great fuel efficient car 30+ mpg city and highway combined (2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine) and it has fairly low miles for the year. It needs some maintenance performed to it but as is it can drive anywhere you need it to. (However, I would not reccomend driving it like it is without fixing some of the problems for a long time. This could cause further damage.) Make sure you look at all of the pictures and watch the test drive video in the link above before bidding. If you have any questions please give me a call or send me an email at 336-602-6444 or akruczk@hotmail.com Folks, I do thank you for your time and good luck bidding. (Just as a remark: I was looking over the pictures, The hood and trunk of the car were opened when I took the pictures so if you see a small space between the hood of the car and the trunk that is because I opened both of them before hand so I could take a picture of the inside compartments. The hood and trunk both shut fine and have a tight seal). Thanks for your understanding. Just as a note folks: I need everyone who is currently bidding on this car or anyone who is going to bid on this car to understand that the car is going to be sold as is, where is, with no warranty of any kind. I have had several questions about this so I thought I would just explain. The car has no warranty nor will I honor one. The car is sold "as is" and the buyer must sign the title and sign a bill of sale recognizing that fact. Finally the car is sold where it is right now because I have returned the tags to the Florida DMV. Everything is up to date and legally speaking everything is good, so you will have no problem getting tags from your state. Also there is no inspection of any kind in Florida so the car has not been inspected. If your state requires an inspection then you will have to get that done on your own terms. Thanks for your understanding. Finally again, this car is a no reserve car. Meaning what ever the highest bid is is what gets the car. Take into consideration what is wrong with the car and what repairs will need to be made. Also compare KBB and NADA websites, etc. Do some research. But please DO NOT bid on this car thinking that it is perfect. Yes it runs and drives but it will need some repairs. Thanks. Q: Is the car legal to drive home? Valid inspection sticker/tags? A: Well, thats for you to get. Again this is a Florida car. I dont know what state you live in so I dont know the policies of that state. I have turned my tag in already. And Florida does not require any kind of inspection. So if you live in a state that does require an inspection, thats on you. Even before any repairs of any kind are done to this car, it should pass whatever inspection your state has "as is". But again I dont know for sure what your state requires. As far as any loans or liens on the car, there are none the title is ready to be signed over. And you should be able to get tags for the car no problem regardless of what state. I would call up your closest dmv to find out what procedure they require for transporting cars, (i.e.) temporary tag, transporting tag, etc. So to answer your question. The car has no tag, I have turned it in to my dmv. However, if you want to obtain a tag for it from your state, you will have no problem. Everything is good from a legal standpoint and in Florida there is no inspection of any sort so therefore the inspection would not be expired or invalid, (because there is none). Thanks.
