Vehicle Detail

2003 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID This has been our family car/commuter car since 2007 and has been a great vehicle. We have put over 100k miles on it between my wife commuting over 100 miles a day and family road trips all over the state and it has never left us stranded. This is the first year of the Civic Hybrid which uses the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system. Essentially when the car is in 'Economy' mode and is stopped, or traveling below 10 mph, the motor shuts down and all necessary functions run off the battery. This is great for commuter traffic or frequent stops as you are not utilizing fuel during this time. As I stated, this was a family car and does have over 170k miles so it is not perfect but it is a good running, reliable vehicle at a good price. Had we not needed to buy a 3 row SUV we would have kept this Honda until it died. We actually held on to it for a while to use as a spare in emergencies but, as you can see in the pictures, our driveway is starting to look like a used car lot. Below I have done my best to provide all the information I would want to know about a vehicle I was considering purchasing. Take a look at my feedback, I have bought and sold several cars and other stuff for our family on ebay in the past 10+ years and have never had a problem or a negative feedback. Being that the vehicle is used it is being sold 'as-is' but please trust that I would never purposely try to mislead someone or dump a problem on them. THE GOOD: Hybrid - 35-40 mpg New CVT transmission - Less than 6 months old ($2500) with remainder of 3 year warranty All scheduled maintenance done at Honda San Marcos w/ most receipts Very good Pewter paint & body - few small dings & scratches only Tires in good condition ( 2 less than 6 months old, 2 approx 1 year old ) Tan cloth interior in good condition - no rips or tears but not spotless by any means. Was a family car so some spots here & there & some leftover dog hair but overall pretty clean. See pics AM/FM/CD stereo w/ built-in Bluetooth and AUX jack for MP3 Tinted windows - all 4 sides and rear Runs good, cold A/C, no leaks THE 'NOT AS GOOD': Accident - I doubt it will show on CarFax or Auto Check but we want to disclose as much as possible. About 6 months ago my wife got a flat tire, spun out and struck a guard rail at low speed w/ front passenger side corner and scraped the rear bumper. This caused damage to passenger front fender as well as front and rear bumper. All parts were replaced and repainted by local professional body shop and we have all the receipts. There was no frame damage or airbag deployment and we have had no issues as a result. On the bright side we got 2 new tires and about half the car freshly painted. IMA / Check Engine light is on - Over a year ago the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) light came on so we took it to Honda San Marcos. The code they retrieved showed a deterioration of the hybrid battery. We were told that there are 7 cells in the hybrid battery and if even one of them shows any sort of change in capacity it triggers the light. They told us there was no way to know how severe the problem was or how long the vehicle would function normally without replacement (approx $1500). As we had no performance issues we chose not to replace and it has been over a year and, as you can see in picture of dash, the battery still retains a full charge and we are getting upwards of 38 mpg. We have the paperwork that reflects the diagnosis and cost of repair but, as we had no issues besides the light, we had no intention of repairing any time soon. That is all I can think of off the top of my head but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Again, this car is not perfect but for a great price you can get a great, reliable, fuel efficient vehicle. We are in Canyon Lake but could most likely arrange to meet you within a reasonable distance if you are the winning bidder. We have the title here so completing the sale should be no problem. We are asking for a $100 deposit via PayPal after the auction closes and would like to complete the process within a week but are in no hurry and would be willing to work with you. Thank you very much for looking and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask...
