This is a (one owner) 1978 GMC stepside truck specially ordered new from GMC dealer. Following are special ordered items as listed on glove box door. Sierra Grande, Saratoga silver, red custom vinyl, sliding rear window, intermitting w/s wipers, H D front springs, 2.76 ratio rear axle, 350 cid V8 eng, dual exhaust system, rally wheels, 31X10.50 R15 LT tires, windshield antenna, deluxe instrument gauge package with tachometer, tinted glass, locking differential, 61 amp generator, four wheel drive with Warn lock out hubs and four-speed manual trans, auxiliary fuel tank, tilt steering wheel, chrome rear bumper and stepside pickup box. Extra includes 1978 GMC (X-7832) Truck Service Manual. Pros: One owner 1978 GMC Truck, special ordered new from GMC dealer. 86,000 miles “Actual total mileage” Ziebart rust treatment was applied immediately after new delivery. This truck has the original factory paint so there is some surface rust, but no rust holes. This truck had very little use in winter with salted roadways. Always washed afterwards, if used in these conditions. 2.76 ratio rear axle (70 mph @ 2300 rpm) You can cruise with the best of them on the interstate. Instrument gauges including tachometer all in good working condition. Interior and original upholstery is in good condition except for torn stitching in seat area on driver’s side. All major parts are original except for the carburetor which was recently replaced. Cons: Crease in right rear fender. (Backed into garage post) Scraped right door and front and rear of wheel opening. Repairable bodywork. (Scraped our brick house while maneuvering boat trailer in tight location) Right door received slight oil-can dent in parking lot six months after new, several paint attempts were required to correctly match silver paint.
