I bought this Fiero in December with the hope of working on it as a father and son team. We completed a standard tune-up along with replacing the front calipers and rotors. We also replaced the bushing on the front stabilizer bar. We were also told by the previous owner that the cluch was new and three of the four main brake lines were replaced with stainless lines. We have the fourth line, but we have not replaced it. We also have new parking brake cables that have not yet been replaced. The engines runs well. We have had no problems other than the fact that we could not get one of the spark plugs out during the tune-up. As seen by the photos the clear coat on the body is in pretty bad shape. The underbody is significantly rusted and that is one of the reasons we are getting rid of it. Recently the steering went out and we found that the problem occurred due to the rack and pinion mounting on the cross member. The mounts are no longer usable due the the rust and the cross member needs to be replaced (Fiero Store $150). This job is too big for me to tackle. This car is no longer drivable because of the steering problem. The rear brake calipers and rotors need to be replaced, but we never got to it. One other problem is that the engine compartment no longer locks. The air conditioning does not work. Also, the horn paddles on the steering wheel are broken off. The power door locks are functioning, but need lubrication inside the door. Everything else on the vehicle is functional. Power windows, power mirrors, pop-up lights, radio, etc. The sunroof is not leaking and we have had no problems with water. Pickup only. Since the car is not driveable a trailer will be needed for pickup
