Vehicle Detail
1980 Honda CB650 Custom. Clear, New York State title. (That alone is an anomaly on eBay). This bike has a lot done to it this year: All new top-end gaskets, with the cylinder heads, valves and piston heads cleaned. At that time I also set the valves and cleaned as much else as it was exposed. Carbs cleaned with new jets and synched. New fuel filter. New Generator (rotor, stator and brushes) Plus a new regulator/rectifier. (This is huge, the charging systems on these old bikes are terribly un-reliable. This bike now charges like a damn champ!) Tune-up: Oil change, spark plugs, points. New grips, new paint on the tank, shocks, sissy bar and chain guard. I am including in the sale an extra regulator/rectifier, the original shocks, and a vinyl cover. Also new battery and some wiring. The Bad: Bike took a spill with me on it going less than 10mph. It slid a few feet, scratching up a few parts on the bike. The generator cover and headlamp housing suffered the worst of it. I took the battery out of the bike after getting home and haven’t touched it since. The turn signals were replaced before me, but with the wrong bulbs. The new ones don't pull enough power to actuate the flasher, which was also recently replaced. A spare is included. Finally, something else is wrong with this bike. I am not a mechanic and no longer wish to pay one to figure it out. I have invested up to my limit of $2500 in this project and I am done. Talking to some experts, they seem to think with a new exhaust, it should be fine. Someone took all of the baffles out in the past and there is very little backpressure. Again, I am not an expert, so I am not guaranteeing anything. The bike starts like a 30 year old, needing a bit of warm-up time and then will run fine for a couple hours. After that it needs 24 hours of rest before it will start again. This bike has 22k miles, but given the right mechanic, is ready for another 20k! It will need new tires soon, which can be purchased on eBay for $100 a set. Email me with any questions. I will respond as soon as possible with as much info as I can give. I am off and available all day Sunday and Monday. Cash in hand for test-drives. Buyer is responsible for paypal payment within 24 hours of end of auction. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay. There is no warranty offered or implied and bike is sold as-is. Please ask questions first. Thanks for the interest!
