For sale is my 1997 Jaguar XK8 2D Convertible with just over 64,000 miles. As you can guess from the mileage, this car has been driven very sparingly throughout its life. Furthermore, it has been cared for extremely well. Its last two owners were doctors, including my father who I inherited the car from. I've only driven it 1,000 miles since then, but for the sake of integrity I've just had the 60,00 mile Jaguar service performed--a very important service for Jaguars XK8s. It is a $750 service in which many minor parts--spark plugs, air filter, cabin filter, wiper blades--are replaced, flushes are performed, and the car is thoroughly inspected and beautifully tuned. Also, the car has been recently detailed including the interior and engine bay. I've done everything I can think of to make this vehicle an easy transition for its next owner, including a full tank of premium gas! When my father wasn't driving the car regularly he had it hooked up to a slow-charge device which I will pass on to you. Besides its comfort, luxury and performance, this particular Jag is a real eye-catcher. Its burgundy color is subtle and elegant, while its chrome Jaguar wheels and Pirelli tires give it an aggressive profile. When the top comes down to reveal the beautiful ivory leather, you're ready to cruise. In the interest of full disclosure, the car has a bit of blemishing and light scratches on the rear fender, a nick here and there along the sides, and some a few imperfections and light wear in the interior. All in all, I would say that the vehicle is in excellent condition for the year considering that it's not a showcar or anything. Mechanically, the only issue I am aware of is a loose taillight connection that causes the computer to warn the driver that the lights are out even though they are not. Also, the original owner had a phone cradle installed along the center console which--while outmoded--was never a nuisance, so I never bothered to remove it. The successful high bidder will contact me within 24 hours and make a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 through certified check, cashier's check or cash (in person). All checks will be verified. Buyer agrees to pay the remaining balance within 5 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Buyer is responsible for vehicle transport.
