Vehicle Detail

1948 Chevy 3100 Patina Hod Rod Pickup There are quite a few of these trucks for sale out there, but how many of them have power brakes, power steering and a V8 with an automatic transmission? Up for sale is my 1948 Chevy Truck. We're closing on our new house and need money for the closing costs, so it's time for it to go to a new home. This truck is an amazing start to an awesome classic pickup. It has a Chevy 350 4 bolt main, backed up by a TH350 Transmission with a 23" Lokar shifter(both out of a '72 Chevelle). It runs and drives great. The transmission shifts well. The motor has an Edelbrock Performer Intake, 600 CFM Carb, Brand new HEI Distributor, new High Performance plug wires, new spark plugs, new chrome headers, finned So Cal Custon valve covers painted to match the motor, new air cleaner, new thermostat, all new hoses and lines (fuel, air and coolant), new chrome oil pan and more that I'm probably forgetting. This truck has been completely rewired front to rear with the American Auto Wire kit designed for this year of pickup. This was the most complete and easy to use kit I have ever seen. It came with a new headlight switch, ignition, fuse panel, pre labeled wires that were cut to length. As well as kits to rebuilt old lighting sockets. (It was expensive though, $450 off ebay). All lights and turn signals work flawlessly. The headlights and blue dot tailights are brand new. This truck has an Oldsmobile front clip (installed by the previous owner, but done very well). It has power brakes and power steering. The rear end is out of the same oldsmobile. The entire frame has been cleaned and painted red to match the interior and engine compartment. The interior has had brand new floors installed. They were sheet metal screwed in over the old floors and it is SOLID. The door panels and kick panels are covered by Sailor Jerry tattoo flash with a protective, gloss laquer applied over the top. The dash has been painted red and almond and has brand new Dolpin antique colored guages. The guages are not intsalled, but they have the brackets included and are already wired up, they just need to be plugged in. The seat is covered with a matching mexican blanket. The exterior of the truck has a great patina. The front turn signals are off a '50s Oldsmobile and have been rewired with new sockets. The passenger side door has a dent in the lower portion, but I have a patch panel to replace it, if you so desire. The cab corners have the usual rust for a 61 year old truck, but I also have patch panels for both sides. I also have 3 bumpers with two sets of front bumper brackets, but no rear brackets. Also included are a set of running boards with splash panels and no rust. I have put a lot of work into this truck (just ask my wife) and I hate to sell it, but family comes first so she's out the door. (by she I mean the truck, not my wife) Like I said before this is a great project and it needs just a little more to make it a perfect driver. Here is a list of extra parts I have, but aren't installed: Brand New: Headlight Trim Rings Dolphin 5" Speedo Guage Cab Corner Sheet Metal Patches (L&R) Dolphin 5" Quad Guage (fuel, temp, oil, volts) Inner Door Bottom Patch Panels (L&R) Door Weather Stripping (L&R) Outer Door Bottom Patch Panel (R) Rear Window Tinted Window Roller Mechanism (L&R) Rear Window seal w/chrome accent strip Door Opener Actuators (L&R) Window Glass Tinted (L&R) Door Latches (L&R) Glovebox Fuel Tank Sending unit Not Brand New, but in Great Condition: Mufflers, with chrome tips off of an '08 Mustang with less tha 50 miles on them '40s Banjo Steering wheel Hood latch Front and Rear Bumpers (3) Front Bumper Brackets with Splash Guard and License Plate holder (2) "CHEVROLET" Chrome Hood side Emblems Hood with all Hinges and Springs and front emblem Chrome Interior Window Trim Courtesy Light (inner cab light) with bezel, glass and rebuild kit and door jam mounted pressure switches Running Boards with splash guards (L&R) What needs to be done: Needs windshield wipers (not sure if the wiper motor works) Either the power steering pump, steeing gear box or the lines that connect them has a leak. (I havent had time to diagnose it) The speedometer cable needs an o ring because its leaking from that point. The truck has no heater so you either need one or you need a 45 degree angled hose to connect the water pump to the intake (it has a hose now, but you can see from the picture it kinda kinks) New windshield and gasket (unless you like the way it looks like I do) LMC Truck has them for cheap Radiator overflow bottle. As you can tell, I have tried to be as thorough and as truthful as possible. If you have any questions or need to see specific pictures, feel free to ask as I know I have probably forgotten something. This really is a bad ass truck that I know someone will be able to add their own touch and enjoy. As far as the title is concerned; 4 1/2 weeks ago I had the inspector from the DMV come out and inspect the truck. I bought the truck in Missouri with a clear title and I needed to transfer it over to my name, but in NC its a nightmare. The Inspector, said it was good and told me it takes 4-6 weeks to get the title back. Basically it should be coming any day. However, if the auction ends and I still haven't received it, I will reduce the winning price by $200. Once it comes in, you can pay me the $200 and I will give you the new title. You will be receiving a bill of sale either way with the truck. It has a good VIN plate on the door. I have no problem going with you to get it notarized if you wish. I still have a copy of the Missouri title if you need proof that it is actually my vehicle. I know this is confusing so feel free to ask any questions if you have them. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping. The truck will need to be trailered as it isn't licensed. Please contact me to arrange a pick up and shipping time as my schedule is crazy these days. I will accomodate the winning bidder any way I can. Buyer pays a $500 non refundable deposit within 24hrs of auction end and full payment is due within 7 days unless other arrangements are made. Contact me with questions. No warranty is implied or expressed. Please no tire kickers, you win you pay. Bid with confidence, I have 100% feedback for a reason. The reserve is set low because she needs to go. Thanks for looking and good luck!
