Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1979 Ford F-100 Custom. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY 77,000 ORIGINAL MILES and has always been kept in a dry garage. This is a "bone stock" 1979 F-100, Custom, short wheel base, 1/2 ton truck. The truck came factory with a 300 c.i.d. - 6 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, power steering, disc brakes, 9 inch limited slip rear axle, and is a FACTORY AIR-CONDITIONED truck (in dash--not under dash.) The truck steers, drives, stops and shifts perfectly. THERE IS NO RUST ANYWHERE ON THIS TRUCK other than surface rust NOR HAS IT EVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. The paint on the truck is its original two-tone silver/red paint. The silver is faded and probably should be re-done, but the red looks very good. The paint is not perfect as it is original and has a few areas where the paint is fading and a few places where the paint rubbed through. There are a few VERY minor dents and bumps from a door ding or shopping cart here and there through the years. The tires are very good, gas tank and sending unit are new. The interior is in amazing condition: see door panel, dash, etc. The dash pad is original with no cracks. Original ash try has never been used--the truck was never smoked in. All glass is factory-tinted and is perfect. The truck was ordered with a rubber floor mat instead of carpet and the mat is in great condition. All the original paperwork is in the glove box including original owners' manual, original window sticker and original dealership title application where it was bought new. I am the second owner; I purchased it from the widow of the original owner. The paint--be sure to look at the photos. Paint is original and nice but not perfect. There are a few areas on the stainless side trim that have a few dings on it in places, but nothing major (also see photos). I have tried to the best of my ability to describe the truck as it is. Please read back over the listing and also look at the photos carefully. This is a VERY nice example of a stock 79 Ford F-100 custom truck with all the right options. It is not perfect, but close--NO rust or significant damage other than what was mentioned already. Any rust present is surface only. The long scratch on the left side of the bed above the chrome molding is a scratch and NOT a dent or crease. You will not be disappointed with this truck and at 77,000 actual miles it has many, many years of life in it, especially since it was so well taken care of.
