Vehicle Detail

1953 Ford F-100 project. Started a couple of years ago, had to move across country and now I just don't have the time to work on it. Some of the photos are from the build, others are recent. The truck has a brand new bed, ordered from Mack Products in Moberly MO. The bed includes a new tailgate, oak flooring and stainless strips. The floor is not installed in the truck now, but the wood has been sealed. The stainless strips and hardware are in good shape, but could use a good polishing. The drivers door is excellent, just minor surface rust and a dent or two to hammer out. The passenger door has some rust on the lower edge, not through, but some pretty good size spots. The cab has had 3 of the 4 corners replaced, have the 4th, but it is not installed. The floors have been repaired and I have a new repo trans cover as well. I have also installed brackets for 3 point seat belts in the cab. I have a reverse tilt hood kit (not installed) and the original hinges as well. The frame has been sandblasted and painted, a TCI Mustang II kit has been installed, with the Ford bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2". The rear is a 8.8 out of an Explorer, open rear, drum brakes. It has new original style leaf springs, with every other spring removed, liners and lowering blocks installed. The gas tank has been relocated to the rear of the truck, its a 28 gallon unit out of a 78 Bronco. It is new and never has had gas in it. The engine is a 5.0 roller cam engine out of an 87 Cougar. It was freshened up with rings and gaskets, no boring needed. There is a small oil leak at the back of the pan. I feel this is the pan, as it is a chrome repro. I used factory Ford gasket kit putting this back together, and the rear main seal is one piece, and can only be installed one way. The engine also has an Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock carb, DUI HEI distrubutor, one wire alternator, PS, PB, AOD trans, Lokar shifter and pedals. The steering column is out of a Ford van (1985 I think, can't remember). The truck starts right up, carries great oil pressure. The radiator is a new original style with an internal trans cooler from Mid-Fifty. That thing is HUGE! The truck starts and moves under its own power, but is not street legal at this point. I have removed the original door latches (still have them) and have bearclaw latches that I was going to install. I only have the windshield, it is original, no other glass. I do have the mechanisms, however I was going to go with power windows. I do not have running boards, but do have the brackets. This truck will need to be trailered. I cannot deliver, but can assist with loading if needed. I'm not a professional, just a hobbyist, and I felt that all the body work was well within my abilities except for one area. Inside the cab, above the window, where the mirror would mount, has a small rust through. It can be repaired, but will take patience and time. I have included a picture of that. Even considering that, I feel that if you put about 40 hours of labor in this thing, mostly wiring and sorting out, you could be driving a very cool rat rod in a couple of weeks. If you have any questions, please email and we can discuss. The reseve is about 1/2 of what I have in this in parts alone, not counting any labor. Winning bidder will have 2 weeks to pick up the truck. Thanks for looking
