Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1988 Fiero GT with 5-speed manual transmission and removable moon roof. This auction has No Reserve and the car is not for sale locally (i.e. I will not withdraw this auction to make an early local sale.) Although there is No Reserve, I will toss in several Bonus items (see below) if the final bid exceeds $3750. At approximately 76,200 miles, the car accelerates well, handles beautifully, has an pristine interior, and is really a blast to drive. It still turns heads and gets comments, especially on the throaty exhaust installed by a prior owner. The leather seats and boot covers are in top condition. I have owned it for about four years and was driving it to work twice a week until the last few months, adding about 10,000 miles to when I bought it. After years of maintaining 4-6 family cars, I’m moving on to pursue other interests. I will be checking for inquiries between 6-9 PM Pacific time during the work week. Thank you in advance for your interest in my car. John ------------------- Work that I have done · Slave cylinder · Brake cylinders, brakes, and rotors · Duralast battery · Duralast starter · Front struts · Front speakers · Pontiac CD-stereo w/EQ · Dew wipes · Falken ZE912 tires (inside rear worn, front good) · Idle air control valve and gas filter · Belts (one needs to be tightened a bit, can squeal when cold) · Plugs, wires, rotor/cap, ignition coil · Rebuilt headlight motor gears Issues to consider · Clear coat is starting to go in places and is especially noticeable on the spoiler. · A/C didn’t work when I bought it (don’t know what is wrong – appears to be pressure in the lines.) Living in San Diego and driving it so little, it was never a priority to figure out. · Will sometimes blow a small puff of start-up oil smoke (why I bought the valve stem seals and gasket kit). It has not gotten any worse since I bought it. · Head liner has a few small sags that are really not noticeable (just noting it here for the sake of completeness.) · In cooler weather the LED display on the CD occasionally shows incomplete characters but corrects itself within a few minutes. · The passenger side visor won’t stay in the ‘up’ position (needs a new plastic bushing.) ‘Bonus Items’ if the winning bid is greater than $3750 · Wolf custom fit car cover · Comp Cams Magnum roller rocker arm set w/1.6 ratio, #1414-12. (My plan was to upgrade to these and port the exhaust manifolds at the same time.) · Rear BMW 2-way 4x6 speakers, 500 watts peak/pair · Upper gasket set (valve cover, intake manifold, etc.) · Premium valve stem seals On Sep-13-10 at 18:45:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Changes to Listing Sept 13. I received a question (not through eBay) on the status of rust from the car's previous life in Ohio. There is surface rust on the suspension and the battery tray (still solid), and in one place in the trunk there are three quarter-sized spots that are soft. I have appended a picture of this area above. Until last night I had never taken the trunk carpet out, so this was news to me. The very bottom area of the trunk and the rest of the trunk look normal and sound solid. If anyone wants to withdraw their bid due to this disclosure please do.
