Vehicle Detail

This is the truck that was used by the charater "Red" in the movie Road House (he owned the parts store). The truck is completely unrestored, the engine (as well as the rest of the drivetrain) has never been torn down, rebuild etc. The truck has only had alternators, starters, water pumps and normal maitenence work. Even the bolt on tool box in the bed is the same one you will see in the movie. I am happy to report that recently I drove the truck 626 miles in one day, it averaged 18.8 miles per gallon, used a little oil, but made the trip without incident. The engine is the 302 mated to the manual 4 speed transmission with the "granny" low first gear. In the last few weeks I have replaced the battery, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, plugs, points and exhaust gaskets. (basic tune up) Please keep in mind this is a 38 year old truck, I am not purporting that it is in perfect condition, it is a ver solid truck and it seems the short box models of this year are hard to find, or hard to find not rusted to pieces. This truck spent most of its life in California where it was bought new with brief residence in Nevada and Southern Oregon. However if you are interested in this model year of F-100's or looking to restore one, why not have one with a story! I am willing to answer calls and questions from those who are seriously interested in buying the truck. Of course you will want some assurance of the history, as anyone would. In short, the person I received the truck from retired from the movie industry. His role was a transportation coordinator, he worked on many movies and tv series over the years, including other hits like "Smokey and the Bandit". The day I picked up the truck I brought a video camera and taped him with the truck, telling the story of Road House and his personal history owning the truck. (He originally bought it in the mid 80's for his daughter to pull a horse trailer) He is still alive and would be willing to verify its history, however I will only reveal his information to the purchaser of the truck. Also included is the original owners manual, and warranty card that shows the original buyers information and the date the truck "went into service". I will also throw in a copy of the Road House movie and a copy of the video I took of the owner telling the movie story. Ernie - 503-507-6655
