Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1966 Chrysler Newport. Everything on this car is original including the paint. It has Chrysler's 6.3 liter 383 V8 with the 4 barrel carb. It was my grandfathers car that has been garaged since 1985, and still has the 1985 inspection sticker on the window. This car was never driven in the rain, and the seats have been covered in custom seat covers which were installed in 1968 and have just been removed a few days ago. The body is rust free, even along the rocker panels. The only place that has had rust was on the rear passenger fender all the way at the bottom. It was repaired and painted a while ago before the car was garaged. The paint has plenty of shine and looks great for its age. There are some dents and scratches and a spot on the hood where the paint has cracked due to heat from the engine. The seats are absolutely beautiful and have no rips or wear spots. The dash board just has a small dried up glue stain/spot in the center. Other than that it is in beautiful condition with no cracks or signs of fading. The hood prop mechanism on the drivers side has popped out of the track and will need to be fixed in order for the hood to stay up. The chrome on the body is in great shape and has no pitting or rust except for the two curves on the rear bumper and towards the bottom. The car starts right up and has a new battery and some new freeze out plugs. Three of the plugs on the block have been replaced due to them being rotted from the old antifreeze and two on the drivers side of the head have also been replaced. The transmission fluid has been changed, and the car goes into gear with no issues. The brakes have been bled and the car can probably be driven away, but I'm not positive because it hasn't been on the road since 1985, and i cannot test drive it fully because it is not registered. The A/C works perfectly and is ice cold and has never been recharged. The power steering works good too, as well as the radio and interior map lights. The headlights also work but one high beam is burnt out on the drivers side and will need a new bulb. The windshield wipers also work. The only other thing is that the drivers side front tire is a different size, so the car sits lower to the drivers side. This doesn't really affect anything but the tire is different. If you have any questions please ask. Buyer is responsible for either pick up or setting up a pickup if the car is sold. The car is being sold AS IS with no refunds. Like i said, the car has not being registered, inspected, or on the road since 1985 so it may need some work if it starts to be driven daily. This car is an all original American classic with 93,878 original miles. It was never driven in the rain and has been garaged when not in use which is why the body is in such great condition.
