Up for auction is my all original 2 owner 1991 Honda Prelude Si with 49,000 original and documented miles! VEHICLE HISTORY: I purchased the Honda Prelude Si in August of 2010 from the original owner who purchased the Prelude in 1991. I have the original Honda window sticker, owner’s manuals, and a file folder full of service records that document the 49,000 miles on the Prelude as being true and accurate. The Prelude has no accident/damage history whatsoever. The Prelude has a Clear Michigan Title. TIRES: There is a mismatched set of Kelly “Chargers” and “Republic Radials” that are on the Prelude. The tires are very serviceable with lots of tread left, but a bit noisy at freeway speeds as most inexpensive tires are. MAINTENANCE: When I purchased the Prelude, I went through and made sure all items were up to my high standards. I changed out the coolant, air filter, engine oil, manual transmission fluid, had an exhaust leak fixed (new flex pipe welded in), and had the tires spin balanced. The prelude starts, runs, and drives out as it should. This is an impressive car! DRIVING IMPRESSION: The Prelude starts, runs and drives out as it was designed to. Again with only 49,000 miles, this Prelude has a ton of life left in her. These 3rd Generation Honda Preludes (1988-1991) are arguably the most coveted of all the Preludes, and are getting very hard to find in this condition, especially with this low mileage. The Si package model was considered to be “top of the line” in 1991. This is a rare car with the B21A - 2.1L DOHC PGM-FI 145 hp DOHC engine and 5 speed transmission (Si Package only). From www.wikipedia.com: “Honda released the Prelude SiStates in 1990. Originally available only in Japan, this car was a limited production run and very few were built. It featured, ABS, limited slip differential, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, extra sound deadening on the firewall and hood, and many more features that were usually options. It also featured a unique B21A engine rated at 145 bhp (108 kW) that was only produced for the SiStates”. AREAS OF CONCERN: Although this is a very nice, unmolested example of the 3rd Generation Prelude Si, there are a few areas that should eventually be addressed by the new owner: 1. A/C does not blow cold, unknown reason at this time. 2. There are three small surface areas of rust popping up. I have been under this car, and it is very clean, however there is a spot in front of the passenger side rear wheel. A spot on the driver’s door bottom edge. And a spot near the driver’s side rear taillight. Please see the photos. Without a doubt these areas can be easily repaired at your local body shop. WARRANTY: This is a great running and very clean example of a Honda Prelude Si. However there is no warranty expressed or implied by me. With that said, I personally would not hesitate to drive this Prelude across the country tomorrow. This Prelude would make an excellent fly in, and drive home car. REASON FOR SELLING: I purchased this car on a whim, and thought I would sell my 1999 BMW e46 323i and keep the Prelude as my daily driver. However, I just can’t bring myself to sell the 323i.
