1982 Austin Mini Mayfair. Complete bare shell rebuild 2 3/4 yrs ago. [Note ebay does not accept the 82'VIN] RHD, 10" wheels, 1275 cc Stage 1 Surf Blue with cream roof and matching proper cream roof rack imported spring 2010, registered, inspected in Vermont, all correct import papers, legit, correct numbers, original V5C title present The car started life as a Mini City 998. The car was then restored over a period of 6 mouths in Uk at a mini restoration shop west of Leeds. The mini was painted in Surf Blue inside and out, with an Old English White roof, there is a very slight glitter in the external blue paint which you can only see when the sunlight hits it. Looks good, and not in your face. The following was then carried out to the car: A 1275cc from a 1275 GT was fitted with a big valve head, headers and a new exhaust system ( RC40 ), New rear subframe, all new Gas adjustable shocks with new hi lows, Cooper S brakes, braided steel brakes hoses (new rotors, and front right wheel bearing done: Sept 1) New clutch and master cylinder. All new gaskets at the time of fitting the engine head gasket, etc, The following where also fitted to the car all of which where new. Bonnet Both sills Water pump Carburator Hoses Bumpers Angel eyes Headlights Battery (8/20/10) Petrol cap (Cooper flip style) Grille Fog light (rear) Badges (full bonnet badges) Cooper S wheels 10 inch wheels, fitted with Yoka A032R Window rubbers and filler strips (all glass removed for painting). Door rubbers (weatherstripping) New cream carpets with two sets of surf blue mats (one clean, one semi clean) New seats from Newton in surf blue. Wood flush dash painted surf blue to match the car. New cream door cards Radio cd oil pressure and temperature gauges Car is stiff, tight, and fast. The car is still civilised in that the air cleaner is not super loud, exhaust is reasonable (good tone). car is built to be a daily driver, has excellent heat, 12v plug, aluminum door hardware, electronic ignition, and more. The color is great, is bright, but the metalflake is not overdone, the headliner is blue and clean. The A panels, breakfast, wings, sills, under headlights are solid, clean, and as stated, new. There is slight bubbling on lower outer sill lip on right rear, under silver molding. These are not rusted through or serious but should be attended to. The car comes with extra paint. The cream door panels are clean, the steering wheel is clean (if the buyer wishes i can supply a wood wheel for $75). the floors are fine, clean, doors clean, bottoms clean. Have not found any body filler.. The underside is tidy, surface rust on edges of inner wheel wells, but no heavy rust. The 10" wheels look and drive well, the tires stick like glue. gearbox and clutch correct and engage, shift well. All lights including interior work. Runs smoothly, at correct temperature, idles well, starts instantly. The big bore head and stage 1 kit give it a full throaty power band. Doors lock, boot locks, inner floor of boot is dirty, but not rusty. Car is ready to enjoy, has new suspension parts, and hardware, so tight and not worn, it is not a show car, the paint has a few sags, the roof gutters are good, the front bumper is loose, tan carpets should be replaced soon as dirty (but not smelly). Take advantage of the soft market on Mini's - this car would have sold for $9k a couple of years ago. The work is done, it is not a reVIN'd car with a quick respray and odd history, it was built for a customer, by a local shop and proper parts, effort taken. Car is being driven, is for sale locally. Will help with shipping, delivery, pick up at airport (BTV). car may be stored up to 30 days as long as payment in full. Can store until the British Invasion car show -Sept 17/18.
