Vehicle Detail

75 Mercedes 240d W115 Diesel 4 speed Manual Dual Tanks 1975 Mercedes 240D, W115 body, with the hard to find 4 speed manual transmission and extra fuel tank in the trunk. Interior looks overall okay as it sits. The front seats, under the covers, are not in good condition. It has some cracks on the dash, under dash cover, and on top of the door panels by the window where the sun hits it. It is pretty much all original with factory air (does not work) and the original Becker AM/FM Radio which does work fine. The odometer currently reads approximately 84K and does work fine however I have no idea what the actual mileage is. Exterior is okay and is a good 20 foot car but up close flaws can be seen. It has some minor dings and dents and the paint is not shiny however it has no major rust and is solid. Mechanically this car is in good shape. The engine runs good and starts all winter long with no problems. I was told by the previous owner that the engine was replaced with a new one not long before I purchased it and I have owned it for about 3 years. The steering is tight with no play and the clutch is good, smooth, and works as it should. The tires are newer and I just replaced the master cylinder, reservoir and rebuilt the rear brake calipers. It has an approximately 20 gallon extra diesel fuel tank in the trunk that feeds the main tank (total of about 35 gallons) all of which works as it should. When I fill it up I can go over 1100 miles before needing more diesel. The extra tank was probably put in when the car was fairly new because of the oil embargo and lines at the gas stations at the time. This is not a perfect car but more of a daily driver and 35 years old. On the other side it is mechanically very strong, engine good, etc. I drove it 150 miles a day last summer to work and had no issues except for the brakes which I just redid. It is an older car and anything could happen however I would not hesitate to take it on a road trip. This would be perfect for a veggie oil, biodiesel, car. Feel free to drive it and look it over or ask any question. Corby Patrick Analyzing "Smart Counters" only @ inkFrog.com
